the recent patch has changed the mission score multiplier from 3.0 to 2.3
for regular players the events require a lot of time and with the score being reduced significantly they now will take obscenely long
this just seems that gaijin has seen the last event with all the sim bots and thought that the average player was getting the event done too quickly and have nerfed this when in actuality the player was having to grind for 6-7hours a day if they wanted to sell a vehicle
unless they also lower mission score needed this aught to be put back to 3.0
Yeah… Sim now has the worst economy and probably the worst sim grind. Instead of fixing the “exploit” for rapidly farming events in sim. They just punish anyone who dares to try play sim. A gamemode that Gaijin quite clearly doesnt care about or even remember exists half the time. Im still surprised they havent just deleted sim from the game yet with the amount of neglect its getting of late.
iirc this is only for pages of history, no word if events change with this I think
The wording implies its both
Its because they still alow players to gain alot of score by doing suicide runs on AFs. People doing that don’t care about rewards. They dont care about research, and dont care about SL rewards. The only thing they want is the mission score because thats what they need to complete the events. Thats why mission score multiplier is getting the nerf, becuase people are abusing it.
I wont play sim annymore. Good job devs
It’s not even like the airport bombing was abused, an event vehicle (without premium bonuses) shouldn’t require you to grind hours after hours just to obtain. Why would players go for the efficient way if they can get the vehicle through casual gameplay?
The grind was kept pushing to an unbearable level even after changes in 2023 that were suppose to make things easier.
Is it really that bad? For me, it seems perfectly fine, it takes less than 3 hours to grind out the star using the mirage 2k
Look at prop tiers.
11 kills over 90 minutes of taking off, climbing, finding and engaging an opponent at an objective (which might expire by the time you get there!) nets you 4500 (only severe damage kills) to ~7200 score. Looking at other top scorers I’ve seen at prop matches, 7+1 kill got another person 5700 score and I saw them from start to finish. Another person with 7 kills, similarly there the whole game, got 4970 score. Another game, 6 kills over 1 hour of pretty much constant fighting - 2743 score (you end up getting more score killing someone by critting them (450 kill + 150 crit) rather than pilot sniping or severe damage).
With 3.0 score modifier, that 5700-7000 score battle in a rank 3 would allow you to play 1 full game of ASB (90 minutes) each day (3x2x5700x0.9 = 30780, 3x2x7200x0.9=38880, we still need some ARB to get in but it’s only like 2-10 games and ARB matches are like 1K score/7 minutes roughly in the F8U-2
With the new 2.3 modifier, we instead end up with… 2.3x2x5700x0.9 = 23598 and 2.3x2x7200x0.9 = 29808. With 5700 score, we need 4 full 90 minute games to qualify almost. With 7200, we need about 1 more ASB or 10 ARB games.
It is a very, very very significant nerf and I ask: How many prop tier lobbies do you see where people hit 6000+ score regularly as fighter aircraft?
Some scoreboards I got screenshotted as reference with time left:

As you can see, average score seems to sit around 4000 but sometimes there’s no air superiority objectives, sometimes air superiority objective RNG means you keep RTBing when they show up and only get a token amount by the time you arrive (if you even get there on time) meaning your whole score becomes just (a.i)(if it exists, I had whole games in the BF109F4 without any bomber/attacker objectives on kursk) kills and death pity. Then there’s BR correction where some players like taking lower tier planes into “historically accurate” brackets (I’m not faulting them, it might just be because the bracket they can play today sucks due to certain meta planes or zomber spam or there’s no lobbies with the right nation set up. However, killing a BF109 F-4 (4.0) in a F4U-4 (5.3) means your 450 score becomes just 350 (0.776 modifier).
Can you reasonably expect anyone to 10 000 score ASB games (9661 if being exact) each day as a prop fighter pilot? Previously, a far more attainable but still above average/usually top of leaderboard score of 7400 was enough. Sometimes you do pop off, but if you’re getting that many kills that quickly likely means it’s an unfair lobby and people will start leaving.
(meanwhile people zombing get…
Notice how blue team's kills are NOWHERE near these 2 guys' deathcount. I joined this match to get a screenshot for another thread to showcase the perverse incentives.
)
Totally sensible incentive system. Genuine, legitimate gameplay? Screw you. Zombing and suiciding into airfields? Hell yeah!
If it’s only that, why the GJ doesn’t remove rewards for shooting AFB, then?
Much simpler and easier than kill the entire mode’s economy, isn’t it?
Well, “reasonably” is debatable, but yes, GJ expects you to play this much every day, because they killed the mode and there’s a tiny fraction of players left in SB.
Okay I’m ngl, I never really thought about prop tiers, as I usually play Korean era or newer. But, since when has gaijin ever been focused on prop tiers? They’re focused on mainly top tier and adding new stuff, why would that change now? Why should they cater to a community that’s of course lots smaller than the others?
Because it used to be of a functional multiplier. 3.0 was difficult, but not impossible. 2.3 needs cheese to pull off or very special (be it in a good way - everyone is a fighter and are actively fighting fair battles - or a bad way: pve/fixed).
And I think prop tier ASB is probably a very large community. Maybe missile-thunder top jets surpass it, but I almost always see 3-4 lobbies across the various brackets from 3.0 to 5.7 - per bracket, not altogether - when the average person gets home from work and whatnot.
Contrasting with korean era, there’s days I don’t see any lobbies open at 7.0-8.7. 9.0+ it seems lively again but the early missileless/radarless jets are pretty dead (checking at UTC+2 20-02 timeslots) (which I think you can attribute to the fact that spawning a Me262 or Horten or shooting star costs like 15-17K SL while the F8U-2 is far cheaper and can earn far more.)
Like, this is a case of “if you didn’t do anything you’d have done better.”
