I wonder if it is just me but the rewards are all over the place. Differing wildly between tiers and perhaps even maps.
In my grind spading the F-15E i noticed stock load of 12xMk82 is making me ~700 points despite destroying only a single base, around twice what I would get for doing the same in ie. F-111F
After unlocking TGP and SDB’s I switched to doing CAS. To my surprise I had to almost wipe entire battlefield destroying 13 targets (mostly MBTs and IFV’s) to reach the ~600pts sweet spot.
The old ~180/150/60/20 points for MBT/IFV/SPG/AAA do not work for F-15E at least.
I didn’t bother doing propper tests killing units one by one and using other aircraft and weapons since current state of Sim EC makes it highly impractical (and I am hooked on the shiny new toy) but this is a problem I did not encounter while grinding the Eagle in the A-10C.
I wonder if any of you have similar experiences in other aircraft
I’ve noticed while flying my 8.7 sabre, I can encounter OSTWINDS in ground battles.
At 8.7. There’s Ostwinds.
An ostwind II stand at 5.3, thus the ground target kill gets severely nerfed by the BR differences.
For bombing bases, pay special attention to your payload “score multiplier.”
Play around with how many bombs you take so that it reads as high as you can get it. Rule of thumb I’ve heard is “Enough bombs for 1 base has maximum multiplier, excessive bomb load gets reduced. This effect is stronger for multirole aircraft and higher BRs than prop bombers and strike craft.”
It is a game mechanic. Some planes have a higher score multiplier than others. Carrying more ordinance nerfs the multiplier. You need to optimize your loadouts. It’s often better to bomb one base and RTB quickly. The absolute best plane in the game for maximum score is IMO the Yak-38. Check out the loadout stat cards in the game to optimize loadouts. One base takes 23.5k damage points to destroy and gives score for no more than 25k points. Check out the WT Bomb Chart.
