Yeah US/NATO side is still the best, but at least there aren’t people running around with 100% win rates anymore

yeah of course win rate is not a the only factor here, but we’re literally talking about 100% win rates, not 95%… That’s saying something. Also the Mig29 lost in both 1 and 2 circle fights to F16’s. Low flying meta made R27ER’s useless and the R73’s are just too inconsistent. Aim9M is significantly better and literally invisible

The F16 was so good it was nearly foolproof against mig29’s, just turn any direction, wait 30 seconds and you’re on the 29’s six

Win rates are primarily a factor of how many players are on a team throughout the majority of the match. The best way to create a player imbalance is to kill the other team until they leave the game.

Using F-16C against MiG-29SMT and MiG-29G is literally the easiest it has ever been. I had like a 97% win rate in the F-16C last patch and around 9% in the MiG-29 SMT.

In Sim the USSR player base is not nearly as big as the USA player base and a large part of it has to do with how much better suited their planes happen to be for the game mode.

Even right now I would wager that there are as many dedicated Gripen players in Sim as there are Flanker players just because the plane attracts people that want to abuse an OP aircraft.

100% right. There was a period between the Mig29 nerf and last update where it was just a slaughter, I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to fly out the mig29 in the hornets nest of F16’s in every game - Knowing you have no advantage whatsoever (Given that pretty much all F16’s flew low)

Interestingly, I have actually not seen that many Gripens in sim games, usually 1-3 Gripens in each game. I’ve definitely seen more Flankers flying around, but that could also be because there are more USSR players

It’s because the Gripen nations (Sweden and Britain) were serverly neglected for the entirety of 2023. Meaning many of their players have transitioned over to other TTs. They also have a rather brutal grind to get to the Gripen, with playing 11.3s to farm out a 12.3. hopefully that last bit will be partially fixed with the new BR changes

Just gunna take some time for more people to return to those nations.

Im personally not flying the Gripen C at the moment because the placeholder radar is annoying me. It’s kinda buggy to use and I get fed up with it after a short while. Will potentially play it more once it’s finished.

I don’t know and I’m divided.
On the one hand, I find balancing and equilibrium in the game very important.
But on the other hand, I’m happy when Russians get punched in the face.

I see more Flankers but I would characterize those players more as just transitory for the most part. They do not tend to stick around from what I have seen. I see more semi-experienced players and more regular players consistently in Gripens. And the easiest way for me to force experienced players to quit a game is to fly the Gripen myself.

Don’t have purely historical matchmaking in top tier. The only reason Gripen isn’t as busted as F-16C is because it can be on both teams so everyone can suffer against it.

And this is the small minded pseudo-nationalism that helps prevent the game from being enjoyable.

hmmm… do you see no possibility to balance the sim top tier somehow without using “arcade” methods?
so in the top tier ground battles, nobody would think of mixing everything so wildly. the players there hate loot vehicles.
I think there should at least be a two week test to see if Nato vs Rus, China would work as a sim air battle or not. parallel to the EC of course. as I said. in the tank battles this is a matter of course.

that wasn’t meant 100% seriously either :)
but in the last 2 years various RUS Z-Clans have had a negative influence on the mood in the game. we can’t completely ignore that either.

Landing successfully already gives a quite nice SL/RP reward. Now it could be implemented that if you taxi off runway to the revetments and park there, a higher reward is paid, similar if you start from there.

And/or that repair/reload/refuel is faster when parked there.

Have you even played top tier air? Have you ever tried to play Russia top tier? Did you play it the last patch?

some time ago with a totally underdog Phantom. that was not a good experience. but I had two friends in F-16 and Mirage who protected me a bit. I am now a few xp away from my first F-16. so not much experience yet. but a lot of interest. and therefore a legitimate desire for a good flight sim feeling.

so and because I don’t know what the best solution for hight tier is I just ask questions.
but I can mention the top tier ground battles as an example because I know them quite well.

This is a whole lot of words to say that you have not.

Top tier ground battles is completely irrelevant to top tier air EC. If you had actually played the game mode…and if you had actually played Russia planes in the previous patch you would actually have an understanding of the power discrepancy between NATO aircraft and Soviet aircraft in Air Sim.

Or maybe you do have a bit of reading comprehension, and maybe you do understand that the amount of Soviet top tier players is vastly outnumbered by USA players alone. But you don’t actually care because your enjoyment of Sim is mainly as a PvE mode.

I’ve actually played both sides. If you make Soviet only teams then half of the player base is not going to find any lobbies to play in and of the lobbies that exist it will be numerically lopsided in favor of NATO. We already went through this in the last patch and it resulted in 95%+ win rates at top tier for USA.

I asked you a question above because I thought I would get a rational answer. instead my competence as a sim player is questioned.

I have spent hundreds of hours in EC. the principle of EC is well known to me. I also know top tier. it’s the same EC only with newer airplanes.

the player Ninjato70x7 has made great suggestions above. including Nato vs Rus, China. which I think is great.

Coporal Apollo (who, unlike you, is a nice guy) has valid objections, which I understand.
still, I’d like to see a test run with a nationset Nato VS Rus & China. also with Ninjato70x7 improvements. so and then we all know if it’s good or worse. in parallel, the mix battles can continue. I don’t want to take anything away from anyone.

why this view now diminishes my competence as a sim pilot is another question.

Two people in this thread only care what their experiences are. It’s nothing you have done wrong. They just want to shut down people who have different experiences.

It would be nice for some more options for ground attackers. And better BR placement for ground attackers so not being immediately swatted by an R27 from nowhere that for some reason doesn’t ping the RWR.

I think larger maps would help them a lot too, and generally more ground targets, sometimes I’ll be sitting around for 10+ minutes waiting for a ground battle to spawn.

Maps are so small that all it takes is like 2 F16’s and they’ll essentially cover / have control of the entire map with their radars, speed and weaponry

Please explain to me oh wise one how USSR mains would have to cope with being hopelessly outnumbered and outperformed in a NATO vs USSR matchmaker at top tier.

Issue: Ground SB 8-2 lineups: Vidar
The issue with specifically the Vidar is giving one team access to thermals and laser range finders whilst the other team must deal with being shot at from across the map by a tank they cannot see. You kill them once and they come back.
Solution: Remove specifically the VIDAR, only the VIDAR, I come from the WWII ground sim, and most of the lineups feel like they should, somewhat balanced vehicles coming together, though the 5.7 for russia is a… mood. 8-2 on the other hand feels really bad to play when on the russian side because all you are seeing is bullet sponge… bullet sponge… light vehicle then dead 3 times because a vidar is spawn camping you from the other side of the map.
