Yup, unless you play in pve lobby there is hardely any profitable game above rank 4 and all are massive sl losses or breaking even with minimal profit of 2-3k SL. Rp gain is also minimal it can take tens of hours grindinding same plane just to get halfway done with modifications.
the question is. what does a sim player want? do you play for 2-3 hours just to complete a “military” mission and have fun? or do you just play to get the next modification and the next airplane?
I think the sim player has to decide what he wants and set priorities.
if people have too ambitious goals and always buy everything right away until they go broke, then nothing can work.
Its unreasonable to have fun and progres in game??? It isnt fun to have to play with AIM-B at 10.7 for 14 hours. It isnt fun losing 70k sl just because you want to play game. And it isnt fun having to play several air rb just to be able to spawn. When you are F2P you can find yourself without sl to even spawn in sim battles.
so with the Premium 5.0 P-51D including a high SL boost, you can earn between 500,000 and 1 million silver camels in one evening. even without a Premium account. even I can do that, although I’m no chuck yeager. a few A points, a few kills, some assists, then the Recon plane - zack 600,000. and I am only an average player with manageable kills.
the other day I spontaneously decided to buy the second starfighter. two evenings of premium mustang and there was money for it. although the other day I was unlucky. there was greek air force with his team. they were constantly chasing me and didn’t give me a chance. nevertheless I somehow earned 200,000 with agony.
if people blow their entire income on their heads and only ever play high tier, then the logical consequence is that the money is gone at some point.
the question is what is your goal? how big is your ambition? what is your demand on a flight sim? what priorities are you setting? …step by step or everything as quickly as possible? is it just a question of silverions and research points? or do you just want a good mission with friends?
there’s a saying:
“Wer alles auf einmal will bekommt am Ende nichts!” [if you want everything, you’ll end up with nothing!]
(2410 * 15 * 4)-5236=139364 SL per hour without spawn cost and that is if you are at max efficiency at all time during hour. With 150% booster it is (3012.5 * 15+2410 * 15 * 3)-5236=148401 SL that is pathetic SL gain compared to other modes.
This is what one mediocre RB 6 minute game with SL booster with Japanese Bf109 gave me
I dont understand why you want rewards heavly nerfed?
edit: i think i did math wrong on booster it should be (6025 * 15+2410 * 15 * 3)-5236=198825SL but it doesnt change point much.
sorry, I don’t know what you mean…
I just wanted to point out that I never have SL problems. my financial advisor in the hangar has everything under control.
by the way
RB feels so bad. I wouldn’t play it even if I earned 100 times more in RB
Yes, it was improved. But it doesn‘t change the fact that at some point it‘s no longer viable. It simply takes a tiny bit longer for that to be true, especially since you pay up-front.
Before the changes it was simply quicker. You died 2 times in a row and it was over since rewards were (and are) too low.
Problems
There are so many…
SB Ground Battle,
- completely review the BR rotations and start doing rotations by years or by eras,
- review the SP respawn costs for certain vehicles see why not include the chosen ammunition in the SP
- remove the first helipad, and departure of the helicopters with the engine off
- review SP cost of helicopters +600 SP for some
- move the airfield away from the battlefield, incomprehensible that the pantsir could be within firing range of the airfields
- Pantsir +400 SP
- guided bomb release callsign!! since when do you have to drop a GBU at 5km in a dive for it to reach the objective? It’s a tripping bomb!!!
- review aircraft SPs according to weapons carriage
- review the aiming system for Soviet aircraft for bombing… on all the videos that I have seen, the screen is not in color or HD, the same for certain NATO planes…
- put back the big maps!!! if the SB exists it is to make it more immersive and strategic, it becomes like the RB just to do kill to kill
for the EC it seems to me that a lot has already been said
What I would like to see is EC with helicopter tanks and planes, it is entirely possible with point capture only with IFVs which could make them more useful than currently, the same for artillery which could make saturation shots at more than 10km all this with a spawning system like the World War event (limited number of spawns per vehicle and per player)
Anyway, the day we are heard I think the SB will have disappeared ^^
otherwise we do like the RB players, negative rating on steam
I only play sim air battles, mostly EC, on a xbox series S with a HOTAS, use a mouse to look around and keyboard for some additional buttons. I fully agree it is a grind, but I enjoy flying the props more than jets. Flying the jets seems too easy to die from some random enemy with better missiles, which I didn’t or couldn’t see, this tends to happen too much. It is expensive to loose a jet, and the survival time is a lot shorter than with props. Jet maps should be bigger.
I feel there are more tactics and skill involved in getting a kill with a prop and the flying time is a lot longer. Consequently I enjoy the props more.
Personally I will stick with a plane until spaded, then move onto the next one. I also try to unlock and fly the ones like, because it holds a special place in my mind. Some of those were disappointing since I could not get the way to fly them right or I don’t have the skill to fly them properly and win engagements. Others are fun and even if not great, I still enjoy taking out more than others. It takes time to get good with any plane, some are just better than others in some situations.
Now to get ahead you have to fly a plane with good capability to generate RP and SL, not all planes can do that and the ones that do is usually a premium. Unfortunately it is the reality of the game, they have to make money somehow and pay their bills and salaries. Selling premiums is part of that.
Spawning over and over with a plane you can’t fly properly is gonna cost you, so think smart, maybe don’t spawn again. Take it out in test flight or custom battle to learn how to fly it well.
Trying to get fast through the tech tree, or buying with real money a top tier jet early will actually make you suffer more. You have to develop the skills, and so do your crew. If not, you and your rookie crew will literary not be able to cope with the stresses and maneuvers that are needed to survive.
Being deliberate and forcing one to spend real money by shady means is not fun, being careful and not falling for obvious traps and making one spend real money is part of the real world. Lots of people fall for stupid gambling online games and loose big money. You just have to chose how you want to spend your time and money.
It took me years to learn and develop the skills to fly real planes well and on a professional level, most of which did not help me playing sim. Different skill set.
What do get me though are the unasked changes, buffs and nerfs which makes playing sim sometimes frustrating. Some of which is just to quiet the complainers. Saw it happen in many other online games over the years.
To me it looks like some of the youngsters like to complain about the smallest bumps in the road and if anything takes too long.
Personally I would like to see a bit more variety in the objectives, some of them is getting very predictable and sometimes it is hard to counter, unless you are on a good team.
Safe flights, keep the blue side up, find the runway and make sure the green lights are on before landing.
I also have something to say. Play DCS instead :)
In all of your posts, you are being very dense… “what does a sim player want? Have fun or progress?” Do you even listen to yourself ? lol… Sim was the place that you could do both until it was ruined by the devs due to some ppl abusing it… The higher the tier, the worse it is. It is fine if you are using premium vehicles but everything else is expensive, especially in top tier. On top of that, sim doesnt offer any better mechanics so to speak. You still have all the info on the top left and the radar screen on the bottom right, regardless of where you are looking… The radar might be excused because it still lacks functions that it should have, like for example being able to tell the altitude bracket that you are scanning with your current settings at any given range, but there is nothing realistic about having your alt, speed, fuel, weapons ect on your screen like that… Does Sim improve how missiles, radar and rwr works? Ofc not, they just use the same broken code… fly low and radar missiles are useless. Radars emmit on what can only be described as stupid angles. IFF is almost not existant and so is datalink… Oh and radars that are not on top tier planes, like for example the tomcat, can drop the lock because they got “notched” while if you use a non PD search, then your radar gets confused by 1 chaff…
So overall, what sim offers is :
- The ability to spawn multiple times.
- No markers
- Only cockpit view
- No instructor
For the price of having to deal with most of the air rb mechanics you got tired of + higher repair costs and less rewards… Great stuff lol…
Do you disagree with my message from where you took that quote?
No, I agree, but, It all boils down to wt sim basically not simulating much, other than sitting in the cockpit… Its really bad at its current form and I just wanted to talk $ about it.
I know the sim from before. I know how good it used to be.
and yes! what does a sim player want? that’s a very legitimate question! some only write about abuse, that others earn too much and that they feel unfairly treated.
you hardly ever read anything about tactics and teamwork here in the forum. or hey, let’s go flying? no … because everything revolves around the holy Silver Lion. the Lion is both a blessing and a curse.
yes, the economy is bad. but if people can’t manage their finances, even a good economy won’t help.
usefull action is also bad. but not because we earn too little, because the character of the mode has changed negatively. people are hopping around like hamster because they have to do something within 15 minutes.
it’s possible to manage your finances without going bankrupt. if I can do it, so can others. my silver camels are just annoying. I’m interested in the planes, the technology, the tactics, the teamwork. as a developer, I would completely do away with Silver Lions and only use research SP in the techtree.
so I don’t need a second DCS. one already exists.
drastically increasing the difficulty in sim will not save sim. yes the hit marker should go and the third person bomber gunner too. and other things.
the overall quality of the mode should be increased. and quality doesn’t mean turning up the difficulty so high that people only crash.
Fully agree with you.
.
Cool. Before they went to Useful Actions and punished everyone, you could do that in a SINGLE MATCH!
who denies that? in the past, the whole EC was better. not just the economy! nevertheless, it is possible to manage your finances without constantly being broke
So in the end, the response to all these problems highlited are " I dont want a second DCS".
If fixing all of the issues mentioned above means having a second DCS then im all in for it and I really dont understand how anyone can say no to that… In the end of the day, ppl can still fly with mouse and keyboard on sim and no one is asking for that to change
you are complaining to the wrong person. I don’t fly with a mouse. and I love the original DCS. which is why I don’t need a second DCS.
Now is simply the wrong time to turn WT Sim EC into a hardcore sim.
first,- the number of players urgently needs to increase. somehow. so that the sim community is heard.
then the overall quality of the Sim mode needs to be increased. This mainly concerns the battles themselves. the maps, the mission objectives and map maintenance. the availability of battles. and much, much more… the Nationsets :D @CorporalApollo
Afterwards, when Sim is finally better and successful, we can think about the level of difficulty. Of course, if many players demand it. and a few features from DCS are also very good. For example, I love the taxi path on the AF before the start. This relaxes me before the hard flight mission begins.
