A reminder that as of now, both premium su30’s are 12.3 in GRB while having full digital RWR and all-you-can-eat A2G guided munitions kit.
J-11A, having neither of the above and the exact same A2A capabilities, is 12.7.
SPO-15 and being limited to dumb bombs/rockets and absolutely nothing else sure makes up for ever so slightly better FM.

Not a bug. All N001-variants (such as on Su-27/33/27SM etc) can now move freely and track selected targets.
And I would love to see what sources they used for this.
I’ve played su-27/33 a good bit in DCS, and N001 there is also hard-locked into 3 scan areas regardless of what mode is used. Which must be coming from at least somewhere, right?
afaik, this was from a bug report. I do not know which specific bug report that resulted in this change however.
The same situational awarness with a better radar allows to not get into the R-77’s range (which is a measly 20km due to gaijin poorly implementing its drag profile).
And the recent buff gave the amraams HOBS.
R-27’s still suck for the most part, due to being SARH.
They aren’t that usefull. Acrually, they are rather niche at ARH BR’s.

Combined with the ability to DL + its insane kinematics it’s one of the most dangerous missiles even at 14.7
Playing mega passive won’t get you anywhere

And for most of the R-27 carriers, they cant defend while guiding the missile.
Like, if someone is flying away and an R-77 wont reach, then yeah, it is useful. But that is a niche usecase.
Neither will bumrushing into furballs.
The amraams now almost rival them in HOBS anyway, while having much superior range over the underperforming ADDERs.

You mean mig-29s? Cuz su-27 variants have plenty good fm to defend and can pressure trick with r-73s/ETs if they dont have 77s.

For long range, maneuvering targets (5km alt). Note how 120b doesn’t overtake 77s until like 25/30s.

Just pressure it with amraams so it doesn’t get to relock.
With the HOBS buff on amraams you can launch them and then quickly go cold again anyway.
Besides, IOG can still be defeated if the target changes its altitude while defending.
