Serious performance issues with the Su-22UM3K/4K

Useless radar, useless missiles (Flare-hungry), maneuverability like a flying brick, and it’s not even fast compared to others at the same BR, what is this thing even doing at 11.0? It can’t even compete at its own BR, let alone in the constant uptiers it gets.

Its a ground attacker, not a dogfighter, its meant for dropping bombs not killing enemy aircraft.

All Ground attackers are having a hard time in ARB currently for many reason, I recommend playing it in ASB instead.

Its at 11.0 because it has 6x R-60Ms and is a notable upgrade over 10.7 “equivalents” like the Jaguar GR1A with only 2x Rear-aspect IR missiles and a notably lower top speed. (though Jaguar GR1A should probably be more like 10.0/10.3 at the moment)

They dont even get the excuse of the Su-22M3 (SQV) with limited CM count, UM3K has 128 which is exceptionally good for the BR. The M4 has 384 CM and 12 LCM. That is insane for 11.0. Quite frankly. Im wondering why the Su-22M4 isnt 11.3 alongside the Tornado IDS if not also the UM3K when compared to the Su-22M3 (SQV)

Hot take, but the tornados could probably be 11.0, specially since the MiG-27s/Su-22s/Mig-21Bis all exist there too, and none are considered OP.

The Su-22s certainly can’t go lower, we just need decompression. However, try it in ASB, it should be decent there.

With the current compression and Gaijins obvious lack of desire to either A) improve the gameplay experience for ground attackers or B) decompress the game. Tbh yeah.

There main advantage over the Su-22s would be a larger potential bomb load, but with diminishing returns mechanic and the loss in performance that has, and the fact there is no gurantee you could use the extra bomb load… Its mute at the moment

Do you even know what you’re talking about? The Su-22UM3K has no radar—well, its radar is completely useless, and you expect me to play it in Sim, where it constantly gets 11.0-12.0 matches against enemy teams full of F-4Js loaded with AIM-7E/Fs?

As if R-60MKs were any good, they’re basically AIM-9Bs. Anyone with two brain cells can neutralize them just by tapping the flare button, even while flying in a straight line like a moron

nor does the Jaguar or Tornado

Yes?

What do you need a radar for in a ground attacker?

You have CCIP and CCRP, that is plenty. Everything else is just icing.

I did a year of Tornado GR1 with 56 CMs and old FM vs Mig-29s and F-16s, that was actually hard and I still had like a 80% success rate on sorties. Su-22 at 11.0 should be a piece of cake.

Well, dont pick 11.0-12.0 lobbies then. Pick 10.0-11.0 or 10.3-11.3 where redfor dominates currently. Heck 11.0-12.0 is the only bracket the Su-22 can see in ASB where redfor isnt currently dominating.

But no different to the Tornado GR1 being a higher BR than the Mig-23MLD in ASB at the moment.

No they arent, that is just being stupid .

So, like all non-IRCCM missiles Including Aim-9L?

This isn’t true because of how sim MM works. However, the F-4E is undertiered in sim, so you will still have to deal with that.

Though sticking low and flying smart mitigates it greatly as the F-4E has no PD and so probably wouldnt find you at range on radar. But sure, dangerous in WVR

This thing for ground attack its worse than an A-10 late or a Su-25BM.

The only advantage it has its speed, which its not even that good in compare woth other aircrafts, such as phantom.
