This. You want your speed pushing the limits at all time. Only get turning if you have an F-104A on you, he can’t match you in a turn and it’s easy to get rid of him.

btw, one thing the Sea Vixen has always been good at that can net you a bit of profit is farming the AI jets. You can typically get there before everyone and you can use your 4 red tops and then go back to base and reload to then go pick off distracted enemies as they’re going at it in the fur balls.
I am not in favor of all aspects at 9.0, HOWEVER, a plane that has no gun…Now if the all aspects, were very limited in range, as are all the other missiles at that BR…that sounds feasible.
But you know, I have a few BR 13.7s and 12.7s, one of the reasons I go to 8.7-9.3 is because I want to dogfight a little with a jet, something with more power than a prop. And so I would hate to see that BR get all “missiled up”. The missiles that are there and right about that era’s missiles.

The plane itself is good at it’s BR.
Outrageously good climb, decent turnrate, regains energy good and decent speed.
But as you have no gun and you can be countered simply being agressive it’s game over if someone gets on your six.
The missiles is nerfed after it was released and if someone is faster than you at 1.5+km going away you usually won’t reach the target.
Not as hard to dodge as it was either.
I think the plane is very balanced where it is now

My first ten flights havent been that great, however, I am one to experiment a little to see what it can do. I have the Ace tag, and so since I got that Im not so statistically driven anymore. I will experiment with it and then become serious…if that makes sense, I will then go to Great White mode. The planes are a curiosity to me, I always loved planes.
Mate, it handles very well, not a great top speed, but good acceleration, and within 1.8km if the other plane is not pulling a lot of Gs, it has a good “gimble” on the Red Tops, for that BR Im pretty impressed with how it comes off the rail. I really like the flight performance, throttle, airbrake, flaps imperative in it.

The Red Tops were very good when it come, now i feel it struggles at fast jets due to short range
I like their increased range, and I dont mind their reduced pull. But they also seem to have lost a lot of their side aspect lock ability they use to have. That was always a really big strength of them was hitting people in the side. Now its rear-aspect or not at all.
Haven’t used it for 1 1/2 year exept when i used to do squadron battles.
Kinda miss radar slaving the missiles at bombers from a 2 km side aspect and seeing them desperate try to dodge it.
They were great salt dispensers.
Think i had a 4 to 1 KD at times before the missiles become less potent and people learn to hunt you down, then my streak went down the toilet
Yeah, it was that which was removed and it really sucks
For the balance it might be a pretty fair move.
Remember intercepting and yeeting 3 TU-4s in only a few minutes.

But now its facing aircraft that can just about match its speed, easily out-turn it and often have flares. They’ve gone too far. Especially given it also got a BR increase
Nerfing missiles and raising the BR is a very Gaijin way of «balancing»
I have to be honest, when I see a Sea Vixen in an Ayit, I just think free food. There is literally nothing it can do to hurt me apart from ram my jet. And this would be the line of thinking for most other 9.3. Sad.

Same, so I just became part of the problem. But I make sure that F-104A and MiG-19/21 are my main priority targets. Ayit does a good public service eating F-104A with AIM-9D.
