Scimitar Strike: Scimitar Mk.2

I doubt it in the case of CVRT2 as they did seem to actually care about this vehicle, only to abandon it for the steaming pile of junk that is ajax last year

Let me guess the bean counters decided that having functional equipment was too costly, so they went for something cheaper that will be completely useless until it’s been rebuilt 3 times at 5 times the cost of just buying the good thing to begin with…
I’m not trying to hate on the UK but it’s been a bit of a pattern…

I hear it’s actually really good now.

oh my. So heartwarming that Brittain gets such a nice treatment, meanwhile, Gaijin locked two mass-produced Hungarian tanks behind a Battlepass and an event. The Toldi II and Turan II. Despite the fact that an experimental version was and is available instead of the mass-produced Toldi II, and early production versions were and are available for the Turan II. But ofc Gaijin doesn’t do their research.

Would have been nice if the same thought process had been exercised back then too, instead of messing up the Hungarian subtree.

yep thats ajax. instead of buying CV90…

I can personally say that the SA80 platform is good, i fired plenty of rounds through a2 rifles as a cadet and the only failiures i ever had were from faulty magazines. it was just RSAF enfield not having the right tooling more than anything, to be honest thats just like ajax, ASCOD 2 is probably a perfectly fine platform, the manufacturing is just abysmally poor on QC.

I don’t know to much about the A2, but I have not heard good things about the A1, it was all dropping the mag, cracked frames and shooting the gas piston down range, then the system (I don’t know if that was the A2 or A3) went through a full rebuild with H&K, if I recall correctly, and the current system is pretty GOATed.

Industry is in a sorry state in general… you are still hard pressed to out do the old Lee-Enfield .303 IMO…Yeah I’m a sucker for the classics.

NICE!!!

Can we Immediately ask to take this into account for the next already created, but not added yet, Scimitar BGTI?

So its now like that for those who spend time on your game? Thank god you shifted from the fans to whales for unique playstile, how would we live otherwise…

If only
In reality it’s a true reflection of the British defence industry where the company has been sold, renamed, and merged to high heaven.
The company that made the Gen 1 sight - Avimo (British), no longer exists and became part of Thales (France). However, the Avimo sight was based on licensed technology by Hughes (American), which later became part of Raytheon. But some of Raytheon’s thermal imaging business was sold to Leonardo (Italy) so design authority for it might be there nowadays.

Thales can’t actually produce the Gen 1 sight any more because they’re not the design authority for it and whoever is the DA, no longer manufacture the Gen 1 equipment that the Avimo system was based on. IIRC Thales not being design authority for the Gen 1 sight is outlined in the parliamentary proceedings linked in the ticket.
Which is why to build new sights for new built Scimitars, the UK have to have used either the Gen 2 BGTI system (which is used on some Scimitar Mk.1s but looks very different to the sights on Scimitar Mk.2), or the described Gen 3 system where Thales replaced the Hughes/Avimo designed parts with parts from the BGTI system Thales do have design authority over.

Let’s also hope it stays at 8.3 and not send it to 9.0 if they add it

But could modern fence armor be put to good use? I think it’s great that it can be removed to save weight, but knowing that many countries use it today, it implies that it has a purpose, whereas in the game it’s just extra weight, since it’s practically useless against any post-WW2 HEAT ammunition.

give it all accepted issued changes, and move back 8.0,that we get a ordinary 8.0 light.but now, only a garbage

There is a purpose IRL, its just gaijin is terrible at modelling it for in game purposes which is highly annoying. The blog going “will help vs some early-” is bogus, it wont help against ANY HEAT based weapons on the Scimitar. Even the earliest ATGMs in the game will have zero issue, earliest HEAT guns from WW2, no issue.

Exactly the same issue arises with the STRV 103s bar armour on the front, it was so effective vs HEAT that the Swedes declared its usage classified, in game? Yeah it made things worse/didnt help at all. Having a quick look, seems the fix gaijin implemented on that is fine now. IDK why it cant be applied on other systems.

I mean even if it had an RNG role of just stopping like, 20% of incoming HEAT based attacks it would be something at least. Or at least help vs a BMP1…

NGL, I predict the moment we see a Russian cope cage bar armour is the moment that bar armour actually begins working. Seen that before a few times if memory serves lol.
