It receiving DM33 and moving to 9.3 was such a bad change. The only makes a difference in 10.3 uptiered that it didn’t have to worry about when it was 9.0. Why would you buff a tank just to move it up to a BR that already has the VFM as a light tank? You can’t pull the Rooikat Mk1D up from 8.7 to be used at 9.0 because it does no damage while having the same reload as the 105mm. It’s now the same BR as the Centauro that is faster and has actual survivability.
Suggestion: remove DM33 and move it back down to 9.0.
No thermals, terrible gunner scope (no alternative zoom, so its stuck at 10x), rear part of the hull limits gun elevation, bad reverse speed for a light vehicle
To be fair, maybe I’m just spoiled by the Rooikats, but to me the VFM isn’t enough of an upgrade over the Vickers Mk.11 and it just isn’t nearly as good as the MTTD
While only Gaijin themselves know why the Radkampfwagen has a higher BR, my guess would be that they see the better survivability and the higher power to weight ratio (resulting in overall better mobility) as enough of an advantage over the Rooikats to give it a higher BR.
However, I have to say that I sometimes feel like someone on the dev team has a certain level of bias towards the South African vehicles lol (except for the TTD, that thing is just a bit sad overall)
It can keep the DM33. The pen advantages DM33 gives it over other light vehicles @ 9.0, such as the PTL02/WMA, are balanced out by other factors, including its lack of mobility (for a light vehicle), trash-tier thermals, etc, etc. Heck, WMA301 even gets HE-VT in addition to roof 12.7mm, giving it great anti-helicopter protection (and any jets that choose to get too close).
What factors balance it out with the PTL02? Because that thing doesnt get the HE-Vt or the atgm, so it only have a better thermals than the MTTD, meanwhile the MTTD gets a better round, much better reload, better protection against .50 cal, better gun handling, commander override, better gun depression, and better mobility (dont know why you claim that it has worse, when it has better hp/ton, better reverse and top speed), heck the MWA only get HE-VT and the atgm but also trades with a much worse apfsds over the MTTD. Not sure what other factors are you claiming…
Such a bad change, like making Chieftain MK10 a foreveralone without a proper line up is a good choice lol what the hell they were thinking? just remove the dm33 and move it back down. Brits only have one mbt at 9.0 and it should have roll along with the Rooikat. Ru so bloated as they has four mbts at 9.0 and Germany has one and the TAM, USA has two mbts and no light tank, once their main vehicle dies you are putting 8.7s/8.3 up agaist 10.0s during an uptier.
Oh the chinese how can I forget that, two ztz-88s which is better than t-55am everywhere, one m60 that recently received the dm33, one td that shoots 3bm42 equivalent and having 5 seconds reload timer, and one busted ATGM carrier. And don’t forget the premium type 69 that also shoot dm23 and carry hevt, so they have four mbts

Admittedly USSR also has a lot of 9.0 vehicles but many of them are overtiered. Germany doesn’t have a ton either and the Leo 1A1A1 is kinda mid but the Alpha Jet at 9.0 is just vile.
The Rooikat is more mobile than the WMA/PLT especially in reverse. The survivability is what sets them apart. The Chinese wheeled tanks just don’t want to die sometimes and the 5 crew do help with that compared to the 3 the Rooikat MTTD has.
Germany has like two vehicles if we don’t count that barn-sized goofy-looking light tank, admittedly chieftain mk10 that doesn’t expose its hull will easily solo these two, along with a bunch of T-55s and chinese version actually has no match against it, head-on they are like 50/50 as non of them could take a hit from the 120mm, facing a hull-down chieftain they are 9/10 time fked. But hey, the chinese has a mediocre line up at top tier so this is the only br they shine lol
German A1A1 is no slouch if you sit back and snipe, get that market place barn then you will have two heimdall with 15.9x gunner sight zoom, more zoom than any top tier mbts in the game lol
