anything to get those bricks moved lower to maybe stand a chance
Vfm sucks balls my ass it’s like the best 9.3 light tank.
Amazing punchy gun. Great traverse speed. (Small side thing: turret ring is actually sloped forward a little bit which gives another degree or two to gun depression. I haven’t tested it but from battle experience seems to go to certain spots -10s cant.) 7 round ready rack replenishes quickly. Tiny size with amazing mobility and quiet engine.
But that’s just paper stats. It’s real secret I’ve seen or heard nowhere else is it’s ungodly, unholy survivability. Sure it’s armor is shi. But it can survive wayyy to much.
Things I’ve survived (just a few)
-Multiple direct hits of 120mm+ APFSDS. (By direct I mean to center of mass/ driver hatch)
-Direct turret cheek hit of 152mm apfsds- commander and gunner survived.
-Multiple Abrams hits to same turret cheek- only commander wounded
-Sustained fire from Beglietpanzer 3+ seconds into hull
-Sustained fire from BMD-4s 5+ seconds
-~7 seconds of marder a3 shooting side (with APDS)
-Bursts of fire from XM800T (with APDS)
-Over 8 3UBM22 (2s38) penetrations
IDK if it’s just me but it literally is one of the tankiest vehicles I’ve ever played. I think it’s cause the modules are relatively big cause 105 gun and traverse stuffed into tiny tank. But I absolutely love it and have no problems with my VFM5 (or vfemy as I call it)
See my above reply.
Also: commander optic 1-8x and zeros vertically and horizontally when you laser rangefind. (So same aiming as scope basically) Plus it has drone to know of stuff around you and you can shoot in 3rd person. Personally I do the test drive track in 3rd person again and again till I can nail the t64 at 1200m. (In all my like ~8.7+ vehicles)
Even if the FoV does restrict seeing a guy as I mentioned above its ungodly tanky and you probably won’t die. (Which can’t even be said for the Chally 1s)
Vickers Mk.11 is the most horrible light and is horribly overtiered like the Desert Warrior. VFM is a massive upgrade over it.
And IMHO having thermals is a privilege not a right or anything. If you need thermals to do good that’s a skill issue.
Yes yes Britain does get them sort of early but gen1s are basically useless. (Like yes they can sometimes occasionally be nice) But with drone and 10x you should have no trouble. I hardly even use drones to aid myself (if I use it which is rare it’s to help my team) and I still think it’s completely fine.
Hell yeah the Olifant Mk.1A is the best 8.3 in the game you cannot change my mind.
South African vehicles typically are pretty good and great fun. The TTD should definitely go down to 10.0 or they should fix the composite armours multipliers (doesn’t stop like any atgms and is like 0.5 against kinetic. Easily gets penned in full downtiers.)
But TTD can certainly be very fun and I don’t mind it.
Rad 90 is faster, has better handling, better armor (really, it’s far more survivable and nigh immune to a lot of autocannons), among other things.
and for this is 10.0 “better armor” yeah vs 25mm canon max + no thermal…
I don’t think you quite understand. it can tank any autocannon to the turret, some APFSDS/HEAT/APDS, most autocannons to the hull, has 7 more HP/T, turns like 4 times better due to all-wheel steering with better response and more degrees of turning. It fixes most problems with wheeled vehicles.
The Rad 90 can tank autocannons while the other ones die to 20mm or 50 cals. The armor absolutely matters in this case.
