And when you do a new character or save, you start from a new once more.
I’m not making a new character, it’s the same one.
I mean if you want to talk about the progression speed in the game. Then thats a different thing than rank restrictions for research speed. They are related, but if you are disliking the progression speed, thats a different topic.
They are related, as you say.
Where also in pokemon you would get 5 cents grinding lvl 90 on lvl 5 pokemon, instead of a dollar. Same way grinding rank 7 on rank 1 vehicles gives you 5 cents instead of a dollar.
In Pokemon you only need to grind 10 bucks however, in Warthunder you gotta grind $10.000 making 5 cents pointless.
Yes. And thats not talking about research restrictions, which are the same.
For all intents and purposes a new nation in Warthunder is the same as a new character. You can argue “but hey, SL carry over”, and id agree there are differences.

The restrictions can be the same, if we want to pretend that, but progression isn’t even 1% as demanding for it to matter.
Two mountains can both have an equal incline of 30 degrees, and both have the same requirements and restrictions, but if one is the Mount Everest and the other is a pile of dirt in your backyard this is 3 meters high, it’s not comparable.

Pokemon doesn’t ask you to make new characters, nobody is going to play WT with one nation for years.
You mean you cant have fun playing lower br vehicles and need to play something higher u dont want to progress? I dont get you people, game should be enjoyable, not this constant grind, its a hell hole, system is obsolete, wasnt changed since first time they implemented this restrictions.
Same goes with reward change and soft cap man, u could play jumbo and farm 10-15k easily but not all u get with prem acc is 10k for tryharding and carrieng whole game, those if it doesnt end in 5 minutes and u get punished for playing less while doing more
plus they add vehicles faster than you can research them (practically)
Sure if i didnt play ALL nations, i would have all tanks of 4 or 5 nations unlocked… but… i like playing all nations and my playing isnt the problem, its them giving WAY too little RP for battles/matches (can even talk about crew XP as well and how that is also WAY too low/little)
I can see now allowing rank I vehicles to help with progression (Daily missions, BattlePass, etc) but i think rank II and above should be allowed. (and yes… i know you can do rank II for the first daily mission)
You are free at any time to play at low BRs or stay in early game areas for other games as long as you like and enjoy the game the way i frequently do.
But if you want to progress into “the end game”, yes you will have to play the mid and end game. Thats just good game design.
Mechanics wise, very much comparable. What it encourages is the exact same. There is a reason i dont compare the grind between these games.
Warthunder also doesn’t really ask you to play other nations. And people do play one nation for years.
I think there is certainly and argument to be made that dailies and battlepass challanges shouldnt have the restrictions they do.
To some extent sure. But you also want people to play the parts of the game that are relevant for their progression.
Warthunder also doesn’t really ask you to play other nations. And people do play one nation for years.
Not if you want to partake in anything, many dailies require heavy tanks, which excludes nations like Italy, Japan, Sweden… require specific size bombs and rockets, torpedos… you have to play a major nation to have a chance at having all of that available, and even then, right now there is a BP challenge to get 20k with the BP vehicles, so you have to play Russia or France to partake…
Earlier one that required 35 missions as US, which required rank lll in air/ground/naval… good luck playing one nation.
And soon there is one for a strike aircraft, again impossible to complete with a number of nations.
To some extent sure. But you also want people to play the parts of the game that are relevant for their progression.
So they can throw you in the meat grinder and make you buy a premium to get out of it, look at the insane amount of premiums and event vehicles at 10 and 10.3, 9.3 is literal hell at this point.
And then also limit RP based on duration of the game, which screws you over consistently because games do not last long enough, even more of an issue in air.
Yeah i agree they should make dailies doable for basically every nation and tailor BP challenges the same, but also content being locked behind new characters or later game content isnt new. And idk how much id describe BP challanges as content.
Yeah thats how Warthunder evens out progression by tying it to play time more than actions.
Yeah and i actually think its really dumb that the same RP restrictions dont apply to premium vehicles the way they do to regular vehicles.
It would incredibly unpopular to apply the restrictions, but i think with the appropriate changes it would be a healthy change.
Because you can see the hell it creates when you dont apply the restrictions
I agree with you, this game was made into a grind hell, when snail cpuld gone diferent path, u dont have to strangle players with grind to make money, and as it shown, making good game pays off more than games like we have

That’s why I want the opposite and instead of even more restrictions you open it up to TT vehicles being more capable of researching vehicles.
I still remember playing Japan with ONLY the STB as a rank V vehicle, and despite having rank IV vehicles available that could be effective, they would be a waste of time for researching rank VI.
And that issue persists all over the place because ranks are stupid and arbitrary limitations.
You can’t match your SU at 4.0 with the KV-1S at 4.0 when trying to progress, you can’t use the T-34 and T-34E at 4.0 either.
Or use the Panzer IV H and J at 3.7 with the Wirbelwind at 3.7 or the Dicker Max at 3.7.
It’s stupid, I shouldn’t be limited in lineups based on a rank when that rank has just randomly been put together… some time ago had 3 FW 190s at 4.7, one was rank ll, one was rank lll and one was rank IV.
Japan main here, I maxed out my air, ground and heli trees. I do have mid tier in other nations and top tier premiums, but the ground grind is such a slog even with premium vehicles and one death leaving is no fun, so I end up back in the hands of the Japanese tt
Ground is objectively more of a grind… at least 2-3 times so, if you enjoy it that is one thing, but it’s not any easier, especially not compared to air.
Bro, a ton of people are still playing Pokemon games from even older eras. Probably before you were born. Still restarting and leveling old as Pokemon. Really not an effective analogy here.
