I disagree.
Gaijin has run limited time events. These vehicles are not available to everyone afterward. Think of vehicles like the EBR 1954, Leo 321 (French float plane), AR 196, LVT A(4), Swordfish Mk II, M5A1 (TD), Pz II (TD), etc etc.
I don’t see people arguing over these vehicles. Asking for them back.
Also, what about the marketplace? That’s also exclusive. Xbox and PS have no access to that. Should we make it so that Xbox and PS can just GE these rare vehicles? But then that’s not fair to PC people who have to go through 2FA and all that. And then spend a ton of money on vehicles.
What about the Xbox and PS exclusives? Like the A-26C-45? F4U-4B VMA? XM-1(Chrysler)? Should those be available to PC people?
And so on and so forth. The game, by being on multiple platforms, is inherently inequal. By having a marketplace is inherently inequal. By having different tech trees with different tanks is inherently inequal. It’s inherently not fair.
These tanks shouldn’t be in game now, but it’s fine to let veterans keep them- they put in the time and effort when the game was a tenth of the size and a tenth as popular as it is now. It’s only fair to reward them for their loyalty and dedication; and these rare vehicles are acceptable ways of doing so.
Every game has veteran rewards. It’s how you keep people. War Thunder, and it’s even vehicles and rare vehicles and trophies and stuff like that, should be no different.

Ok, here is a question for you.
Is it fair that Xbox and PS players don’t have access to event vehicles like the M8A1? If it isn’t fair, how do you make it fair for them while also making it fair for PC players who need to go through the marketplace?
How is that instance any different from the Panther, Tiger, and Coelion? You can’t make everyone happy. Ever. This is an instance where I think removing them made the most sense. In the end, the only thing that matters to me is that they never come back. Remove them from veteran accounts and reimburse them with GE/SL, fine. But don’t reintroduce them to the game.

if i could have a tank that got removed and gaijin would one day say that they would remove COMPLETELY the existance of that tank (even the ones that already unlocked it would lose it), i wouldn’t complain cuz at the end they’re balancing the game and saying the truth about it.
i never got a single removed vehicle, but i got the MiG-25PD (event vehicle) and if Gaijin would say they would remove it from the game for balancing purposes, then i wouldn’t complain cuz at the end it’s for good reasons and i also wouldn’t like to fight a MiG-25PD in a flareless 10.0 plane which underperforms against the mighty Foxbat.

is it fair? no ofc not, there’s no reason for poor PS/Xbox players to not have access to the marketplace when a big part of the community comes from PC.
the fact the minority of players are from PS/Xbox doesn’t mean they “deserve to not have access to the marketplace”.
how do i make it fair? idk, im not Gaijin, i would give them access to the marketplace by working day and night coding and coding just to make crossplay work for it too or smth.
i have no problem if they get removed, but if a small part of people can still play with it cuz “they unlocked it first/before the removal”, then the problem starts.
if a small part of the WT community (PS/Xbox players) can’t get access to the marketplace, then why also all the WT community can’t get access to removed tanks that any other player has except veterans?
i completely agree with that idea and would balance the game again.

my opinion is that Gaijin should reward veteran players with expensive things, not removed things that any other players can get.
for example: if Gaijin adds a new premium vehicle, veterans can play with it for 30d (like CC when they ask for a random vehicle and Gaijin gives them the vehicle they want + universal backups and premium account(?)) or get a 25%/50% discount anytime they want to any premium pack/GE vehicle.
they could also get access to limited things that wouldn’t affect the game itself or the gameplay of other players, like special access to some streams where WT developers leak information about new things coming to the game or playing with famous YTbers/streamers just for being veterans.

this ideas could balance the game in a very good way that wouldn’t harm any new player trying to improve and enjoy War Thunder to it’s own way.

How is it fair to return fake/incomplete hidden vehicles if for the same reason we can’t see other new vehicles from the same category?
I would like to have P.43bis for example then, it’s not fair that I can’t have it just because Italy was added too late.
Then you should disable the ability to play on deactivated tanks against those who started playing after the date of their removal, because new players can’t even open the defense analysis to find out how to penetrate these tanks. Or is it “different,” and you’ll oppose this mechanic to continue humiliating newcomers?

The game wants to be realistic. Not historically accurate.
Those are two different things and they could fix the realism part by giving the Panther II the Schmalturm variant for the 88mm cannon instead of the variant for the 75mm.
As I have said. Back in the day I had to grind 1,170,000RP to get these tanks.
With the average match giving about 1000-2500rp and lasting between 10 - 20 minutes, this means that I have spent between 78 - 390 hours on that grind alone, which I would not get back, which I wouldn’t get any refund for, etc…
This is completely unacceptable in a game that is entirely designed around building a collection through grind.
As I have said. I have no desire to keep these vehicles “exclusive” to the veterans. I have always been opposed to any form of vehicle removal in this game.

UUUUGH its pretty egoistic.
Gen Z players just dont understand the culture of the proper MMORPG. Whichever event you were back then, it defined your character. If you missed some event, you dont get the reward and distinction markings of it. And you shouldnt. If we are being fair about the “gaming” part, it is only fair to never get the rewards from the events you never attended to.
Now, if we`re being honest, i only wish they get back to the research tree. As much as the R2Y2, the Ryukai jets. They add more uniqueness to battles than simple cloned M48s.

As veterans already played at the time when leopard 1s and t-54s met the tiger 2s, so their tanks now do the same to give the OG experience!|

Sounds similar to this concept, where you can research older event vehicles that are now unobtainable. This can include Removed TT vehicles as well. This wouldn’t hurt profits from Gaijin since they gain nothing from keeping them gatekept, and would technically earn more making them available but still keeping them rare/special.

Okay so, to a lot I’ve read here are the replies. On the topic of veteran players deserve to have it to themselves I have the receipts to prove that I am one. And also, more proof that veteran players have stuff to show for the age of their accounts.
^ Aren’t these something no newer accounts can have. That would definitely make an account stand out.
^This one shows that I was a German main and it’s is the nation I played because I have such an interest in their tanks specifically the era of the discussed vehicles.
And to the veterans built this game, you’re right we did. Maybe I had to finish school, had a big loss in the family, and had other things going on in life than to stay playing this game 24/7.
And I get event vehicles being a one off, and then you either buy it on the market, or later you might get lucky in a SL box. I got the Ersatz over Christmas, and I was ecstatic. It took 40 million, but I got it. And I’ve played the all the dream come true events and have all the vehicles for it. I missed the T72 Moderna event, so I bought it off the marketplace for a couple hundred because I had the choice to as a little Christmas gift to myself. Also missed more like the IS7 and Object 279 both I really want but I can’t come out of pocket for I got a family. And things like the Surblindé I just don’t have an option to get.
And I know I’m just a number and a player with no voice, but all in all my point still stands. This is a game and they are in the game, whether it was built in real life or not. It is playable content that was in the Tech Tree, and has dodged nerfs, has better pen, better speeds and are better all around at the br that they sit. And newer players still have to verse. And I am a veteran player and I am running into a full set genuinely like every game so “people who have them are small in numbers and getting lower year by year.” That just even sounds awful for the game.
Someone from Gaijin team I still really would love to hear from you why aren’t titles, profile pics, decals, decorations, and so much more enough for the older player base. Why are they getting Tech Tree vehicle gate kept to themselves, again dodging nerfs, etc. Being playable content within your game, that people have to verse but can’t have. And is there ever going to be a way for your player base to get said vehicles and others, being any of the suggested ways. Or is it just in indefinite not my problem no kick rocks. Because genuinely it would determine a lot for me and my future in the game.

Why should it be any other people`s problem but yours? I mean no disrespect but “gimme now because back then i had better things to do” aint in any way supports your position, rather again explains that its all not for the playerbase but for yourself. Same as those who cry every year for getting Panther 2 “Just this once, just once not maus but panther”. I mean if there were better things to do, you shouldnt consider those pixels as “lost property”. I had better things to do on the winter event, i didnt get the MiG25. I have no sadness about it.

You literally have the option to get the Mig25. It’s cheap on the market. If I could I’d toss you my coupon for it. And out of everything you just want to find what makes you feel like you’ve won. But you’re completely missing the point. I said there should be stuff locked for the long termers there are plenty for them. Like all those receipts shown.^ pfp, titles, etc. Dev only, beta only, or YouTuber cup and stuff like that.
I don’t understand why it bothers you guys so much that players want the content that’s in the game. Like I’m no business major but isn’t that good for the game? Don’t you want the game to all around be enjoyable for everyone? Is that truly such a problem? To me it’s not, but it seems like to the people that have everything they want it’s who cares I got it no one else should have it. Or it’s just not my interest so I’m not for it. Like what is that mentality?
There are kids right now that will learn about these wars and have such an interest and find this game and be disappointed that they can’t have something because they weren’t born soon enough. Or they didn’t play but now are a part of the community like everyone else who has a love for the game.
