I thought the whole maim point of the light tank scouts was to make your team aware of enemies location. Be that tanks or planes and usually you see scouted targets be taken out by tanls more than planes.
Actually the FlaRakRad was particularly good at killing nato MBTs like the leopards and abrams back before gaijin nuked SACLOS guided missiles into the dirt, you lobbed that VT-1 under, near the hull roof or into the roller wheels and you’d overpressure them, optics shots worked against russian tanks like the BVM and T-80Bs
As I have said, I don’t want CAS to be removed, I just want a combined arms mode for ground and aviation, and for ground to remain ground only.
That statement isn’t as profound as you think it is. It quite literally does say it on the tin, in the very first sentence.
Ideally you would do this by making the counters as simple and easy to effectively learn and use as the CAS that is killing you currently is. That way, the game says an unspoken ultimatum:
“If you have problem with it, kill it yourself. Don’t like it? You picked the wrong game.”
Nerfing harms everyone at the end of the day and helps nobody, and should only be used as an absolute last resort in my experience.
I know that is why I pointed out the top of the line SPAA which seems to be the biggest isyue these people have with the new free vehicles. (I had a game recently where I got 4 tank kills with the Roland so it can still be done.)

I too want the mode to evolve into something better, FYI.
I just do not see any form of “aircraft-free mode” as part of that evolution, much less a necessary part. If it happens at all, it should only be well after all of CAS’s actual problems are properly solved.
The description is much more like buying a bottle of orange juice only to find it has mango and carrots in the ingredients list
