There is a tool kit for disabled users on PC. You can’t do that on a console so they include it by default.
Also… way to ignore the main point of my reply.
The main point that it’s about the disabled or injured?
No, it’s about the sticks.
The additional usage of those custom controllers is another aspect entirely, because some of those are even elaborate and amazingly thoughtful. I’ve considered getting the Farm Simulator button box in the past, and with the other setups, as the one from Microsoft can atest, the design and functionality is so wide and untapped.
I feel this is rather insensitive, and reinforces the disabled stereotype.
Got a link for this toolkit? You surely aren’t making mention of the accessibilty options in windows here…
Let me rephrase it. My friend literally relies on aim assist because his arm was blown off in Fallujah. Being insensitive is not my intent.
Regarding the tool kit he uses a simple google would find it. There are a lot of accessibly tools for windows.
This shouldn’t be a hill you are willing to die on.
It’s not the main reason for that ‘feature’ though… It’s because of the usage of a gamepad and a pair of sticks in the first place.
It’s called playability.
I even said you’d better not be referring to the accessibility panel in windows, and you can’t even be bothered to front up…
I don’t get why you take such offense to this.
If you play on PC you should probably be using a mouse anyways. console players don’t usually have that as an option.
Also the Microsoft adaptive controller is a thing. It works on Xbox in addition to aim assist and makes this game playable for a lot of people. You can’t load a toolkit onto a Xbox or PlayStation.
There is literally a package tuned for this game on GitHub… disabled people use it. These are both facts.
I don’t know why you thought I ignored your point when I posted a direct reference to the fact that it’s not there for the disabled factor, it’s in literally every game, and it’s because of the control difference in the first place.
You trying to put your point out that it’s about the disabled and using your disabled friend to prove your point is just you.
But what if I want to use joystick, or a controller? Console players can get mice and keyboards also working.
That’s what I was referring to.
That controller, and those like it, and even button boxes and the various joysticks that everyone can get, aren’t anything to that aim assist in that sense.
So this ‘toolkit’ that you’re pushing here is merely a profile… It’s not anything special.
The only problem with it is that you can play console with mouse and keyboard.
But a controller is enough of a disadvantage.
You are assuming a lot.
I’m not going to waste more time to explain how wrong you are.
Everything I said could be verified with a very simple google search.
I’m sorry that you feel like this game should only be for able bodied people.
This isn’t worth my time anymore.
Nope… I’ve looked at these sorts of things in the past as I have a tech want.
This is the issue, you aren’t able to prove me wrong because this is a discussion forum, for holding conversations and sharing opinions on.
The fact you even say this, reinforces my views on you.
I’m sorry for your friend, who you use on the internet in online arguments.
You said that before.
This is a discussion forum. Not an argument forum.
Discussion requires both parties act in good faith.
You are not acting in good faith.
Pretty simple really… You jumped in here, didn’t get a response you thought you’d get, and you then used your friend as backup for your opinion, claiming I was wrong…
Not everything is single purpose. Aim assist helps those with disabilities. If it were to be removed now it would hurt certain disabled persons ability to play the game.
I hate to think how taking out of the game would affect people with certain disabilities.
I play with mouse and keyboard on a desktop PC.
I don’t use aim assist or a controller.
This doesn’t affect my personal play style at all.
I do believe aim assist is a good thing overall.
I came to offer a different point of view.
Nothing more nothing less.
I’m going to turn this into a net positive.
Works very well.
This module works very well and even has a ps5 adapter
If you have friend or family who are disabled bring them along in to war thunder I promise we aren’t all jerks.
Who’d have thought that GTA 3, was such a forefront of accessability to have lock-on options…
Just saying, you making out that you need to sign off in the manner you did just shows who is genuinely arguing.
The aim assist is more to do with the game controller in the first place than genuinely being for the disabled.
Think about anyone else though… If someone had that assistance, and got you for it, obviously, without the need for them being disabled or anything like that, do you understand the reason to be concerned about it?
It’s not that you aren’t affected by it just because you don’t use it, it’s about the others using it…
Do you understand the idea of looking at things, before proclaiming a hill is to be died on?
My only issue with aim assist is that it isn’t offered more broadly. It’s essential for accessibility.
People on console with aim assist kill me.
I still think it’s a net positive.
Aim assist isn’t all powerful. It isn’t some magical lock on ability. It’s an equalizer.
If more people are able to play the game as a result it’s a good thing.
You don’t seem to be having fun.
This is a game. I play it for fun. I don’t need to be good at it to have a good time. I’m glad I am able to play it with my friend. It makes me happy.
They can play the game because they can hook up a mouse and a keyboard to their Xbox or PlayStation. They don’t have to play with a hand controller, end of story, it’s unfair that they have automatic lock on by pushing a button on their controller, you aiming the gun automatically swings, and shoot and kill your tank!
I’ve been playing this game since it came out, and they shortened the battle maps, which is not right for modern armor, and there’s never been a shortage of players, it’s like this. Watch the video of an Xbox player killing my helicopter when he can’t even see it because I was sitting on a helo pad
