It’s hilarious to think that people playing on ULQ actually can’t see themselves shooting rocks and junk they cannot see…
‘Why’s this not getting them, DAMN NETCODE… Better fire again!’

With all due respect, this is nonsense and wrong.
In MSPaint? Man, that’ll be tough. I don’t know if that will even work if Barney-style doesn’t.
I went with using “alt” buttons. D-Pad and ABXY do eight total things, but then you also get “click Left Stick plus ABXY” and “click Right Stick plus D-Pad” for another eight functions, for example. Plus potentially a further eight the other way, though that’s a bit more awkard, so better for niche things (open/close cockpit, cockpit lights, smoke, etc).
You can also double up similar functions that don’t overlap; bombsight view and Schräge Musik view on the same button, for example. On that note, I don’t even use “ideal” buttons, as I have separate ones for each cockpit/tank view, use flaps up and flaps down instead of toggle, etc.
Another handy one is setting increase/decrease/reset zeroing and rangefinder to “Left Trigger (zoom) and D-Pad”, meaning they’re only active when zooming in… when you want to be using them.
