Regarding the Hull Armor of the M1A2 SEP V3

Also where is Trophy APS on sepv3?

The day in service V3 have Trophy fitted

Fort Benning probably

Because this was a huge subject to cover with a lot of other technical information beyond just the final value.

As well as to detail our ongoing plans.

However, can we assume, whichever the final value may be, that they will be abiding by the notion that “no tangible improvement was possible because there weren’t volume or enough of a mass change”?

This was a quoted part of the original post that shows the offending source and has since been removed so i have removed it from my reply

Hey so that is still classified (i would like to add that this isnt confirmation it remains classified and gaijin may have something saying its not but from my perspective it is still not legal)

So much about “we dont use classified” huh

Nice

I’d really like to understand how an ERA Relict element, with extremely thin and lightweight dimensions, offers 200mm of protection against kinetic weapons… the estimated weight of the Relict plates on the chassis alone is about 1 ton. But following the logic of this post, for the Americans to have increased effective armor against kinetic munitions, would a substantial increase in weight be necessary?

Following the physics logic of War Thunder, it would be unnecessary to spend the budget on extremely heavy and complex armor; simply stacking 4 Relict elements would provide 800mm of protection against kinetic munitions, without taking up much space and being lightweight… lol

We wont
We have another information
We dont think so
We decided not to

It’s not black-and-white between the vehicle refusing to move and it running perfectly fine. We don’t know what the results of those weight tests were, how heavy the weights on the hull were, etc. Just because there’s a picture of it driving doesn’t mean the tests couldn’t have concluded that the weight was too excessive and would have damaged the suspension after a certain period of time.

This is not War thunder school

That’s mostly to do with how heavy ERA works, the armor the Abrams uses is different.

Well that’s embarrassing, and confirms some other claims.

But it never had one, did it? Only a couple SEPv2s had ROSY installed for a short period of time
