Reflections of a (former?) IRIAF 'Alicat' main: Fakours v. MICA et. al

Still have to wait for it to pit bull meaning pl12/aim120 or anything similar to those missiles could counter it not to mention you can simply shoot a missile at the f-90 and the longer the range you fire the f-90 the easier it is to dodge it. The missile is good but if you know what your doing it’s easy to counter

I mean that’s what its designed to do. Not allow the enemy to get a chance of firing back

Dodging the full spam at 12km alt u get being aggressive at the start is easier than the fakour arriving 20 seconds early, it does its job too well.

I mean if u slow under 900kmph the fakour goes to another post code anyway, still the best missile at the start though IMO

it really only does a good job at getting people who aren’t aware or don’t know what they’re doing not to mention the player base getting to comfortable playing one play style being fox 1 engagements and needed to start adapting to fox 3 play style engagement not to mention people love the fur ball

They only kill me at TT. Lower Brs im going left/ right not just straight middle as fast and high as poss.

Not aware equates to not checking flags and pre-emptively managing speed ready for notch just in-case a cracked one is coming your way vs fly as fast as i like at “superior” missiles and rely on RWR.

Fakours change the way one side has to play- the start wins/ loses the game most times. Even with no kills they are doing a job

it’s entire job consists of killing people too dumb to pay attention. It’s purely a mild inconvenience for anyone paying attention. 0 game impact unless you’re a complete idiot.

fakours sometimes do really strange shit at closer range launches, though. died to a fakour for the first time in ages because it refused to bite chaff and then i couldn’t kinematically defeat it from a 10 kilometer launch

I’ve just quit flying uptiers…

I’ll deal with a 5-10min crew lock rather than fly long strings of rage inducing missions with no hits and all deaths. There’s a difference between making something fair, and nerfing it to the point where half the games its used in are useless - and I still have yet to see ONE reply in the above thread by a Alicat owner, applauding the uptier.

I have choice and entirely non-profane words in mind for any company that profits off my acquisition of a product (and they do make $$$ off Market), only to degrade the performance of that product based on complaints of people who don’t even own it.

Yes, it may be in their boilerplate, but it happens so often as to deserve some kind of recompense or redress . Given the propensity for full uptiers at 13.3 - or at least to 14.0, I’ve got more than enough choices at 14.0+, I’m not just going to repeatedly suffer cortisol inducing slaughter-fests against R-77s, high-pro AMRAAMS, MICAs etc, when performance wise, electronics wise, countermeasures wise my aircraft is FAR WORSE than what I’m facing.

I’ve read the arguments or…non arguments rather…about why we can’t get the option to opt out of certain BR matches even if it means a longer wait, just like we can opt out of a map. Fine, like I said, I’ll take the crew lock, it’s better than wasting five to fiteen minutes of my life for nothing.
