Realistic Aiming

I like how this is made now. However, some realistic sights would be nice.

I found another cool clip from GHPC and all i want to point out here is that the rocket seems to miss, something that doesnt happen in WT that often. In WT is quite easy to navigate rockets, hitting your target exactly where you want isnt a big problem. Thats where more ‘realistic aiming’ comes in and saves the game.

Also a nice explosion effect.

Doesnt want to play sim battles yet wants to turn realistic into sim…
What would the difference be between rb and sb if they added what you want?

But the systems behind it arent realistics. WT is arcade even in the “realistic mode”.

It doesn’t have multiplayer lol

Most realistic physics in the genre, reloads & loadouts are correct…
Heh.

You can turn it on in settings for reastic battles as well. Let us know if your gameplay got milion times better xD

Also, you can mimic that GHCP aim style with controller or joystick.

Where? In WT? Reloads are not correct nor are the loadout since loadouts are done by players.

Loadouts are coded by the developer.
And no tank has a reload faster than real life.

No they are not coded by developer. You can use full HE loadout in a tank in WT while IRL you wouldn’t be allowed to do that in a real tank.

But it has. T-34 76s were all buffed due to balance. While M18, M4 and PzVIs were nerfed due balance. Gaijin said they use RoF as soft balancing tool which automaticaly means RoF is not accurate.

All tanks IRL don’t care what certified ammo you pump through their guns. Abrams & T-80 will allow all-HE
And all those tanks you listed have slower reloads than real life.
Slightly slower is realistic.

No they did not. All I listed had faster realoads IRL apart T-34 and were nerfed significantly due to balancing reasons. T-34 76 1940 had just around 3 rpm max IRL in WT it has over 7 rpm which is over 100% buff. T-34 76 1942 had around 7 rpm max IRL in WT it has over 9 rpm which it could never achieved even when firing stationary. M18 had up to 18 rpm IRL in WT it has just over 9 rpm. M4 also had up to 18 rpm IRL in WT it has just over 11 rpm. PzIV had up to 15 rpm IRL in WT just over 10 rpm. It was all documented in old forums and Gaijin said yes its true but they use RoF as soft balancing tool. So real RoF is not what it is in WT.

You are confusing ammo with loadout. No tank IRL would be allowed to go on mission with full HE loadout. In WT you can use only HE without single AP shell. So no, loadouts are not accurate. Ammo may be (even that is questionable for some vehicles)

You must be kidding or misinformed about the matter.

Where is the realism when tanks with 30-40-50t jump from hills on rocks and still move like nothing happened?

Where tanks with fatal hit in engines get repair in seconds?

Where in the world wars was that easy to hit a tank gun? You wouldnt need a best tank just a tank that hit the enemy gun, right?

Where wheleed AC get hit in the tires and still moving like nothing happened. No suspension? no torsion bars?

Reloads are static since that they dont consider crew fatigue, ammo weight, battle stress etc.

Nothing is realism here

That isn’t true… exactly. The load up would be dictated by higher command based on the mission. For example, most M-10s and M-18s spent most of their time providing indirect and direct fire support for infantry. So most of what they carried was HE.
An individual TC could probably dictate what rounds they drew from an ammo point, because the supply private manning it isn’t going to argue with a crusty SSG.

I tell people that War Thunder is about as realistic as a Loony Tunes Cartoon…

Wrong. Gaijin explicitly state they tweak reloads and loadouts/access to ammo types as soft balancing mechanisms. By definition, they are not historical.

This.

Nobody plays it and the BR rotation thing doesn’t allow playing whatever you want, I really want RB to force gunner sight. Relegate aiming from barrel to AB only. I know this will never happen because Gaijin wants to keep the tryhards happy.

If you really need precise aiming at close range, go to third person and use the barrel aiming circle.

I forget their reasoning for removing regular mm in sb but they should bring it back.

Yeah, lets not add the mechanics of the less popular gamemode to the more popular one. It is less popular for a reason.
