Realistic Aiming

It’s less popular for multiple reasons, not just because of how aiming works in SB.

Not yet but that is coming. That was one of the Kickstarter selling points. Right now they are working on adding vehicles and getting the “campaign” working.

you know you normally have a weapon tracking system ? you aim at the tank press a button and the gun/turret automatically swings with the target with the correct lead. in war thunder is not very realistic XD

SPAAs already have target tracking, and planes get fairly realistic HUDs. Just imagine if Gaijin gave us more authentic fire control systems for tanks, similar to BF3, instead of just a simple crosshair.

And low tier gets realistic period correct sights

I believe this would be really hard to implement given the amount of tanks and vehicles they would have to rework, and the limitations set by the game engine ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They said no to accurate gunsights because there are too many vehicles. You can find some historically accurate gunsights here: WT Live // Best sights for the past week

I personally use custom sights on all vehicles I could find.

Same here, the default crosshair is too busy for top tier. Shame that Gaijin gave up on immersion for ground vehicles and off loaded to work to the community to make realistic sights.

Fun fact: World of Tanks has fall damage, unlike WT. Who’s more realistic now, huh? :D

Fun fact. WT tried impact damage in tanks. Was really funny to watch a tank hit straw bales and crew died!! Even had tanks hit “AIR” and suddenly stop and crew died. They removed it because they didn’t have the man power to correct it.

Yeah. We had tree impacts killing drivers.

GHPC uses a V-JOY system for mouse aiming, which is the same system as what Simulator Air Battles does here in War Thunder for planes if you use mouse control not a joystick / controller.

It definitely adjusts the snapshot weakspot meta , which can be good or bad depending on your stance. Way higher skill cap though.

Gunner sight is nothing to do with what OP is meaning.

The controls in GHPC are Vjoy (Virtual Joystick), not a direct 1:1 mouse aim, that’s y it’s much higher skill cap / harder. Gunner sight position is just a bonus.

Should be a separate Gamemode on its own like SB.
If you want more Realism you can play that Mode for the moment…and you’ll notice out of the 100k+ Players the Game has barely anyone plays it.

That is the weird thing about his suggestion. For some reason he wants to add this straight to realistic instead of first adding it to sim.

There is nothing realistic about realistic battles anymore, it devolved into arcade without markers. Force gunner sight for once in RB, I’ve been playing with gunner sight enabled since I got bored of the arcadeness of aiming down the barrel.

Top tier feels like arcade due to how modern tanks work. Doesnt help that gaijin is turning maps into CoD.
Personally, I am not 100% opposed to using the irl gunner sight. However, it will be a rather large change that will change the brs of many tanks. I say this because some tanks, such as the panthers, will see little change while others, most tds, will experience a large reduction in performance due to the amount of parallax they have.

Your stance is much more reasonable though. OP basically wanted to take everything that was different in SB and add it to RB.

No Gunner Heat PC isn’t even finished, it’s an indie game being made by a very small team that prioritizes quality over quantity and right now there isn’t much to do as it stands. But is updated actively.
