No, the yak3u is far better than the F8F. Although both are notably undertiered
honestly I’d agree the yak3u is superior to the f8f, it has zero reason to be so low, vk107 should also be 6.0 or higher. but the h5 absolutely shouldn’t be 6.3.
The yak3u clubs every prop in a 1v1, even the 6.3-6.7 ones. The only things it cannot turn fight are the zeros and A7Ms. But it can easily energy fight them

I wonder why someone actively ignores the flight characteristics of F8F and only thinks about the 4x 50cal firepower feature.
As a joke, if F8F-1 equips DGP-1 gunpods for four extra machine guns, because the pilot felt low firepower was an unnegotiable flaw. F8F-1 probably still fly better and acts better than P-47D-28 in the same BR.

dont climb
dont keep their speed when they need it
dont take the right lines in fights
and take way too much dogfights
now the f8f1 can hang with a lot of stuff in dogfights
but if youre not facing little timmy in his yak3 eg youre not gonna have a fun time even tho the f8f1 defo feels like a plane that isnt as bad for turnfights as people make it out to be i will do more testing on that topic
Not really an argument that you can make. If the reason I’m able to farm F8Fs so much is only because every single F8F player is the worst player in the game, then all the other vehicles around that BR would also be SL pinatas.

lets compare it to some of the competition at 4.7 shall we?
were going to take one 4.7 out of most tech trees (ill try to pick the most decent ones) and compare it to the f8f
as you can see far superior climb and topspeed and still better insta ;w;

also here the f8f1 is straight up faster and climbs way better
and now prob facing it off against the second best 4.7

alr just tested against an equally skilled player in dogfights
the f8f1 stomps the 109f4
the 109g6
prob the 225 too since its not much better than the g6 in 1v1s
stomped the tempest mk V
stomped the g56
and gone equal against ki84ko
so yea its pretty decent in dogfights
even tho it lost to a competently flown yak3 (who would have though)
(the list was 2-1 against 109f4; 1-0 against 109g6 (we stopped cuz the gap was too big); 0-1 to a typhoon (also stopped cuz gap was too big); 1-1 against a tempest mk V (the kill the tempest got was rlly poor flying on my part); 0-1 against 2k5 serie 0 (was expected but the gap was so big we also stopped); 0-2 against yak3 (who would have thought); 1-0 against g56 (was not close); 0-1 against VL pyör (gap too big again); same for ki100 and j2m2 but it got 1-2 against the ki84 and 3-0 against the seafire fr47)
so everybody that says it cant dogfight is just wrong
