Question on why the F-4S 11.0 in ground RB

1.its seeker is the same size and it pulls the same so flairs send it like a bug to a bug zapper
2. it’s not effected by all of them, it’s 11.3 so it’s not going to work on all-aspect missiles unlike the F-4S that has no Aim-9L’s so it can’t fire side on where the jammer doesn’t work.
3. Usually Air or Default

There is more than just seeker size and pull.

Fair. Although it wont hit if the su25 isnt tunnel visioned.

Try the AP belt. I feel like it works better.

Id guess the agile eagle.

Not only does this make you more potent in a dogfight, especially in a gamemode where every fight is basically WVR, but you are also more effective in defending against SPAA and getting into position to attack or re-attack ground targets.

The other 10.7 Phantoms like the British ones (normally at 12.0 in ARB) dont have agile eagle but the Kurnass which I think does is also 11.0 (but only 11.3 in ARB), and unlike the F-4S doesnt even have PD radar so I dont think radar performance has an impact

there can be, but when the missiles only difference is a slight increases to tracking rate it’s not going to change much, I’ll try to switching belts but it could be just the mk11s damage because it seems the Vulcans more damage

the agile eagle can only get you so far. at it’s BR it fights vehicles that are far better then it in a dogfight along with the fact you don’t have a 11.0 lineup to use with it meaning you have to move it to 11.3

12 to 20 d/s

The vulcans have a higher rate of fire. They are easier to aim too.
I do wish the f4s and j had the vulcan in the body.

Its a decent upgrade. You can do good dogfights with it

Not having a line-up is a shame, but not a unique problem, happens too often unfortunately.

as for whether things can beat it in a dogfight, I cant comment, though I know that the none-Agile Eagle Phantoms it would face in a dogfight at 10,7 at the very least wouldnt stand much of a chance.

it can fight the AV-8B+ that has Aim-9m’s and Aim-120As

  1. thats a 12.0 aircraft
  2. Nothing can beat a harrier, especially a harrier II in a low and slow turn fight. I’ve destroyed enough F-16s in the Harrier Gr7 to know that

The aim120 harriers are just weird br wise. They cant really go up or down.

At least their lack of speed nerfs their aim120s

Harrier gr7 my beloved

Just wait for the Gr9A with a better engine and HMS

True, but it’s still an Aim-120 and with the lack of countermeasure the F-4S has it almost impossible to dodge even with notching

Depends. The slower the aim120 is, the easier it is to chaff.

but it’s much harder to get the Aim-120 slow with the air map size of ground RB as at the most it’s 40km by 40 km, on top of that you’ll use most of your countermeasure do to the max of 30 chaff unless i take less flairs, until they give the F-4S the AN/ALE-47 countermeasure pod

I do agree that the air map is rather small. They have been increasing them at least.

The new air spaces on some ground maps will allow for enough room.

I don’t think it’ll get much bigger as any larger and the CAS will get worse as Russian 38MT and US 130a-12 will be able to use the max range making them invincible

Just exploit multipathing in GRB, especially in the F-4S without guided weapons, you dont want to be climbing anyway because you’ll make yourself an easier target for SAMs, especially the good ones like the Pantsir.

Stick about 40-50m and the threat of an AMRAAM is greatly reduced, in GRB, the ARH slingers are highly unlikely to be climbing to an alt where they can mitigate MP entirely and most, will probably also be hugging the deck.

I already do that, but i don’t agree that it should even fight the Pantsir since the F-4S has no guided weapons which is probably why the F-4J is 10.7

Most 11.3/11.7 CAS shouldnt be facing the Pantsir, but alas that is compression for you
