True, but it’s still an Aim-120 and with the lack of countermeasure the F-4S has it almost impossible to dodge even with notching
Depends. The slower the aim120 is, the easier it is to chaff.
but it’s much harder to get the Aim-120 slow with the air map size of ground RB as at the most it’s 40km by 40 km, on top of that you’ll use most of your countermeasure do to the max of 30 chaff unless i take less flairs, until they give the F-4S the AN/ALE-47 countermeasure pod
I do agree that the air map is rather small. They have been increasing them at least.
The new air spaces on some ground maps will allow for enough room.
I don’t think it’ll get much bigger as any larger and the CAS will get worse as Russian 38MT and US 130a-12 will be able to use the max range making them invincible
Just exploit multipathing in GRB, especially in the F-4S without guided weapons, you dont want to be climbing anyway because you’ll make yourself an easier target for SAMs, especially the good ones like the Pantsir.
Stick about 40-50m and the threat of an AMRAAM is greatly reduced, in GRB, the ARH slingers are highly unlikely to be climbing to an alt where they can mitigate MP entirely and most, will probably also be hugging the deck.
I already do that, but i don’t agree that it should even fight the Pantsir since the F-4S has no guided weapons which is probably why the F-4J is 10.7
Most 11.3/11.7 CAS shouldnt be facing the Pantsir, but alas that is compression for you
agreed, but with the F-4S being 11.0 it’s almost guaranteed to face it and on top of having to move it up to 11.3
The 36mt has a max target lock range of around 15km.
They could fire point locks but that would at least make them easier to dodge.
They should increase the air space. The 40x40km means that you have to skirt around the edge to dodge panstirs at alt. Larger air spaces will allow for longer range spaa too.
Again, compression issue, just as the F-4S shouldnt be facing a Pantsir, likewise something like the Harrier Gr3 shouldnt face an F-4S in a full uptier. There isnt really an ideal solution other than decompress top tier GRB.
Though, with the 12.7 CAS moving to 13.0. Ive been finding that 10.7-11.7 games are quite common, so no Pantsirs.
true, but it’s not about longer range spaa as they won’t add them if planes can’t hit them too
Especially with better SPAA inbound, even the weakest missile for something like the Skysabre is 25km range. They need to overhaul how air spawns in GRB going forward as well as the size of the maps for aircraft otherwise things are going to get messy really fast
on top of the fact the us only has very long range spaa making it even harder to add spaa as the smallest range patriot missile has a 70km+ range
always forget about the SL-AMRAAM. I could see it being add, but the MIM-23 HAWK is an unknown since it’s from the 60s it might not perform great and this is all i can find on it other then it’s range
Maybe even Nike Hercules, but this could be a stretch since it’s a heavy SAM
Hawk is solid SAM for its time, and there are improved versions that can be added
I think that’s a new document so it’s probably about the newest version of it
