Does anybody know what the best and easiest radar mode to use to track enemies so that I won’t have to look around with HMS PD Radar mode all the time cause I’m a level 100, but I don’t play Air much so I struggle to create myself some good controls and also finding the right radar mode for the SU30MK2.
TWS is probably the best
But like when it comes to the controls or what not. Like whenever you’re in Ground RB and your being tracked by someone, I always use HMS PD and struggle to find the Enemy plane till the very last few seconds but I’m always too late and always or sometimes die. I want to learn how to use it like how the experienced people use it switching from like TWS to HMS PD for closer engagements. 🤷♂️
tws hdn is the best.
but the N001 scan is so bad for data links, just use normal Search Hdn.
Only use HMS at close range or in a head on, TWS is great for firing off multiple missiles at a time

Oh, ok that makes sense yeah for closer engagements but for like to say whenever you’re flying in a Ground RB match and stuff and an enemy planes radar is detecting you from a distance say like (10-20km) and you can’t see them physically through just looking around and not using radar. Does the TWS just automatically detect the enemy plane to help me find them or do I have to be clicking with a key bind/control bind or something Idk…
Yep. Make sure to have the rectangular essay mode as well, it’ll be easier to see targets on it

and the control for it is it like just um, Lock Radar/IRST on target or the Select Radar/IRST Target to lock controls ???
Yeah, I set R as my keying for lock radar on target. Also I don’t need a key for lock missile, if you only set a keybind for fire missiles it’ll work

TWS HDN is the best to use and bind manual radar horizontal and vertical cue to make the radar more effective/easier to use

if your close to the target and cant find it, exemple they are in low alt and the terrain make it hard to spot them.
use Irst search and lock. its scan faster than the radar.
other option that can help is upgrading you pilot awarnese in the Crew point

Like the area its scanning of its available azimuth/elevation?
Yeah, I think so or like the box that contains the line that goes back and forth showing the radar scanning the air

stick to TWS for most scenarios
for jousts transfer to HMS and sling R-77s at people
