The issue is that the missile the russian get is literally the same as the r73 the only thing thay changes is the seeker
In game rvv md would has the same fm as the r73
Won’t go any faster or turn better
Probably a longer burn time but thats about it

We Literally have the mica in game the most powerful dogfight missile followed closely by the. Magic 2 performing better than the r73 despite not being designed for hobs shots
yet does it better
And they come here and say that the p4 is to good to be added when it has the exact same speed as the pl8b
Just give it the 9m irccm and the job is done
Also when i look at the p5 bad flight performance at range i dont think it will be that much better when fired from a plane

This is wrong. R74m has new motor section with more range as well as new seekerhead
I just don’t understand how it flies worse in game than the 9x block 2 in kinematics when it should be better than it in every way other than seekerhead. Python 5 is really only better than the iris t sls which is a really low bar to clear
its simple look at the 9X design and look at the Python-5 design and tell me who of those 2 missiles is smaller than the other one and has less weight, less surface controls and a way less air resistance thanks to its low profile design. the answer is pretty clear.
9x would get same seekerhead as Irist sls in game which is a bit too powerful
Yeah but the python is a full 20 kilos heavier, surely that has to go somewhere(I would assume mostly motor to give it great kinematics)
The thing is that the “GREAT KINEMATICS” are not actually great if the missile does not have one of its main features (Variable Thrust Rocket Engine) this is what it gives the Python-5 those “GREAT KINEMATICS” IRL, in game its not the case, gaijin cannot implement such feature because for the devs this is far beyong its comprehension is almost impossible for them right now to code such thing no other missile that i know have this kind of feature in its engine, its literally a technology developed by israel just for this missile but this is also something you can easily find in engines from spaceships you know NASA things, SPACE X that kind of things, but in the realm of air to air missiles this is really rare to find and see how it works. PS: i saw a lot of people saying during the course of time that that because the Python-4 and Python-5 look literally the same they perform the same this is a huge misconception, they are not the same from 1 missile to the other 1 the changes are huge. i really want it to put this clear because its something that it keeps happening.
That is not some unique feature to the Python 5, nor would it even be the first missile in-game that would have that ability. IRIS-T is already in-game on SPAA.

Then they will just skip to Python-5 since 4 is not equal to other latest gen missiles.
There’s a range of later gen IR missiles, doesn’t necessarily mean skipping straight to the latest ones
No, most latest IIR missiles doesnt get improved range much considering they already more than enough.
Only couple exceptions are there such as MICA IR NG and Python-5 otherwise other missiles doesnt get improved range.
The thread has a bunch of other IR missiles that can be added before the latest ones.
There’s no reason to add the Python 4 by itself yet
Python-4 is a 4th gen missile that is in the same category that Aim-9M,AAM-3 and R74 has.
Claiming it shouldn’t be added before 5th gen missiles is pretty funny.
R-74 isn’t ingame either
And generations are a wide spectrum of capabilities, if late Gen 4 is closer to early Gen 5, then no problem

R74 is just R73 with improved seeker, nothing more.
Russia when it gets Vikhr,R73,R27ER,LMUR and KH38MT: Somebody else sleeps.
France when it gets Rafale F3 with MICA and Hammer: I sleep.
But when Isreal mains asked for nerfed Python-4 for the sake of gameplay: Somebody else gets waken.
