Python 4 for F-16D and F-16I

For the forum moderators: This thread is not only about the F-16I but also about the F-16D

The F-16I is currently a completely pointless addition to the game that offers no benefits over already existing vehicles and the Python 4 would make it unique enough to be worth grinding. If there are concerns about its IRCCM, it can be artificially nerfed as the Python 5 exists which also provides improvements in IRCCM.

In addition, the F-16D Barak II should have its ahistorical Derby and AIM-7 missiles removed and have them replaced with Python 4s. This would make the aircraft a lot more unique and would also make it different than the F-16I as it would have no ARH missiles unlike its successor.

Derbies are the only reason to play the f-16d, they shouldn’t remove them imo as it keeps them at a lower br. As for python 4s, if you check them out in custom missions they’re much too insane, Israel is just fine with 9m as with most other top tiers. The I gets maws afaik so it’s definitely an upgrade over the 16d anyways

The 16C also gets the derby and is in the same matchmaker

So are the R-73s

6 AIM-9M that you have to trade the worst ARH in the game for that can face aircraft with up to 12 R-73+R-77-1 is very much not fine

13.3 is a much better match maker than 13.7 imo unless you’re playing sim

Much worse seekerhead

IRCCM isn’t even really the issue with Pythons, but their flight performance. I mean, the SPYDER has Python 5s with nerfed IRCCM (which means it’s identical to the Python 4 with nerfed IRCCM, as the seeker is the primary difference between the two models, they’re aerodynamically identical)

Its flight performance is meaningless if it can be easily flared since it can’t see anything flareless

That’s really not a good argument, because it can be applied to any missile. Unless you’re also advocating for the IRIS-T, AIM-9X, ASRAAM, R-74M, etc, to also be added?

+1 from me, the F-16I will be the penultimate addition to the Israeli tree (unless a Ra’am late is added) until the Adir comes; in order to make up for the shortcomings of the F-16’s airframe, especially when fighting Eurocanards, newer IR missiles are necessary, funnily enough the Python 4 isn’t even that new, and with similar ‘dulling down’ to the AAM-3 it will be the perfect addition to hard counter powercreep

There is currently no need for any of those to be added (maybe with the exception of the 9X) but I would 100% advocate for their addition.

I would gladly take a semi nerfed AIM-9X Block I for the F-16C

They can come with their counterpart, the Python 5

I want them to remain at or below 14.0 in BR.
So I must respectfully disagree.

To which the Python 5 is identical except for seeker. You can’t ask for a Python 4 then say “oh well everyone else has to wait until we get the Python 5”

You are missing the entire point and refusing to acknowledge the primary point of the argument so I will not continue any further

All those missiles listed have advanced IIR seekers, python 5 included, the justification for the python 4 is to nerf its seeker down to a current basic IRCCM one, alongside some adjustments to it’s maneuverablility in order to make it the best IR missile in game, but not a wunderwaffe without any competition at all

Besides, not nearly enough people play Israel, so you won’t be dying to them left, right and centre as you would if modern IR missiles were all added at once

what is your opinion of 2 or 4 python 4s but unerfed?

That would be incredibly overpowered

even if we limit to just wingtip pylons?
