fortunately balancing based on stats means that the average ability of someone in that vehicle is what is taken into account. and youll never guess what the biggest determining factor in the ability of an average player in any given vehicle is…
Churchill VII at 4.7 was always on borrowed time APHE or no. The Crocodile has been hovering around 60% winrate, with decent SL and KD as well for the last 6 months.
Ever since May 2025 the Crocodile has been in the top 3 vehicles at 4.7 in winrate consistently, many of those it has been 1st.
The issue is the opposent are panicking when they’re facing the Churchill and try to snap like the Mk.3 unless shooting the weakspot. This situation let us to counter-attack and the M61 isn’t giving a second chance.
Good olayers using Chi-to, Kv-1 and T-34 are able to knockout the Churchill’s turret and of course, SPG with HE rounds or the 152 / 128 gun can one shot easily the Churchill in frontal
Crocodile is an event vehicle of course its win rate is going to be higher. It’s arguably just straight up worse than the regular VII because of the trailer but only good players are using it.
I’m consistently getting goobed frontally by the influx of Japanese tanks when I’m playing the VII. Longways through the tracks is a real and consistent weakspot that a lot of tanks can take advantage of. KV-1s (especially the up armored ones) are very favored because of how annoying thin barrels are to shoot when the turret is on the move and how annoying most of them are to shoot frontally. M44s (and to a lesser extent M55s(oh boy I love letting my APHE fuze!!)) completely own it and then there’s the breda players. The annoyingly good breda players. They just win. Always. Because it’s kind of psychotic to preload HE. The VII has a lot of counterplay that people just aren’t using because it’s effectively a brand new vehicle with how often it’s being seen compared to before.
I’m excusing these overperforming stats because it’s been less than a month since the update. Of course the stats are going to look ridiculous there was a solid 2 weeks where half of the 4.7 games were Churchill VIIs. Wait like 3 months and THEN the stats can actually be taken into account without other variables. Also the Crocodile is objectively worse than the normal VII and is doing better stats wise, I wonder why… it being an event vehicle definitely isn’t relevant.
First screen-shot the area you are targeting is so minute that hitting it under battle conditions will be a struggle - not nearly the same as theoretical targeting in protection analysis.
Still got destroyed by those shots in game, let me grumpy at the moment. Same thing being concentrated on enemies on a point defense and a savage Zis-30 taking the opportunity to shot the sides.
