Personally, i just find it annoying because it always has stuff that doesnt make sense.
it has good grammer so i have no issue with that. i am not one to correct grammer.
at least he isnt like that one dude who did chatgpt and titled it “an essay that i wrote”
It’s a really tough balance, because a well played aircraft with a decent radar would never allow a heli to get anywhere. Likewise a well played Heli could camp at the end of a runway and just spawn kill
It would be fun, but not sure how it could be implemented in such a way that it doesn’t just cause chaos.
Ai helis though, now that would be a really interesting objective to add
The same suggestion from someone with 16 hours of helicopter time in sim with only 1 nation…
Take it from someone with 8 days in sim playing ALL nations… this is a TERRIBLE idea.
in 9_2 games I can spawn a plane and kill ALL the helicopters with zero issues.
In 10/11_2 I can spawn a Z-19/10 and kill ALL the planes.
Fly a PVE game and fly to the bottom of the map. Now fly back to rearm… it will take 30 minutes… and sim maps are MUCH larger.
Sim is broken already, they should fix it before talking about adding helis.
Think a good way to balance this would be to just have area defense aircraft be sent after them? They waste missiles on the incoming a.i. and get more distracted while actual player’s take off?
Hmmm, would having a.i. squad heli’s help? like bringing backup vehicle’s with you to change into?
The first is possible ,but Gaijins AIs are hit and miss at best, quite often they just crash.
As for the second, no such mechanic currently exists so would be whole new thing just on its own.
The defender’s for the attack group aircraft on sim map’s seem to have better a.i. i think.
Unless I’m going schizo lol.
As for the second, yea. Heli a.i. would need to be made. But they already got a good outline with Single mission squad’s so maybe a c/p with a bit of editing.
(Wouldn’t happen to know a good cdk tutorial? might try making my own code for it if possible)
AH-1Z AIM-9M
Id would love to see Helis AirSB, where I see the problem is on where to Spawn them helipad, in a 128x128km map ist going to be a Nightmare to traver that distance
It’s also very general in what it says.
It doesn’t say specific examples, or anything directly relating to the game, it’s all surface level stuff that means absolutely nothing. This makes them quite easy to spot.
Yes please! It’s absurd that the only mode helis (read: aircraft) can exist in are Ground modes and an AB-only(!) PvE mode. :(
They can be trimmed to fly well if they don’t fly well. And you can map change controls mode to a button and change to simplified. That will you SAS. Or is it impossible change controls mode in GSB?
You’ve clearly never played a single minute of helicopters in sim :p
Trimmed to fly well? lol
edit : I take it back. 72 games in your Z-19E and 10 games in your KA-50… and a handful in a few other helicopters which you never played again after you realised they didn’t have damping :p
Yes I have quite a lot. But mostly they have been equipped with SAS. The AH-1G I fly all the time without SAS because it’s more agile that way. It can be trimmed to fly just perfectly. I’ll try the helicopter you mentioned later and I’ll report back. If it can be trimmed to fly well I’ll even post a video. The latter part of your nickname describes your output perfectly.
I also asked if the controls mode can be changed is SIM. You’d be the perfect person to answer that. I can’t try it because I’m at work.
A helicopter that can be trimmed to fly straight is a dead helicopter.
You haven’t flown a single sim game in the cobra…
Why would I need to to fly it in sim? It handles exactly the same way in RB when the SAS is turned off.
the irony is that the cobra has damping, so it’s quite manageable in sim… why would you trim it when damping is 1 button push??
Why would I need to to fly it in sim?
Because it’s fun?
I also asked if the controls mode can be changed is SIM.
After 8 hours of heli time in sim , you should know the answer…
Helicopters fly exactly the same in sim and realistic as the flight model is exactly the same. I don’t need to fly AH-1G in sim for the sake of this argument. And I fly with it with damping off as I’ve said. I’ve never had the need to change the controls mode in sim because, as our little detective have worked out, I haven’t flown any helicopter without SAS in sim. And when it comes to aircraft I don’t have “change controls mode” even mapped, so I don’t know if it’s possible to change it or not. But fine don’t answer.
No quite the opposite, mouse aim should be removed for the gunnery controls.
This is my number one concern with adding helos to sim: the arcadification of sim.
So in their current implentation helos have no place in air sim.
Do you propose the same for SPAA and planes?
I dont need mouse aim to fire a ty-90 at you… but your problem is helis killing ground units?
