Some of you might have noticed that the so called 3-bases maps are bugged.
I created this bug report:
Community Bug Reporting System
…and i kindly ask you to support this report by clicking on “I have the same issue” (in case you agree) in order to put gaijin’s attention to this bug - there more people affected, the higher their priority.
From my pov this bug decreases the average mission score and earned SL/RP for bomber players quite substantially - whilst it currently killed the last option for the ultra-rare “enemy airfield destroyed” win condition in Air RB.
In order to avoid double input i copied the content of the bug report:
Within the last update gaijin has revised some maps - mainly so called “3 bases maps”. They re-arranged main airfields and added secondary airfields. Most of these 3 bases maps are called “Front Line xxxxx” maps, others are old legacy maps. The main difference to “standard” 4 bases maps was that killing all 3 bases was a mission goal (with ticket reduction) and after the last base was killed the next mission goal “destroy enemy airfield” was activated and the airfield received a marker (like a base) and you could bomb & destroy the enemy airfield with enough TNT dropped - and get points / mission score for that…
Whilst playing the maps Front Line Mozdok and Front Line Kursk i noticed that after killing the last base the enemy airfield was not marked as bomb target and subsequently nobody dropped.
That means:
- Bombers who managed to stay alive by flying detours have no bomb target left when much faster strike aircraft killed all bases thx to their forward air spawn.
- Bombers have then to go low in order to attack ground units - high alt bombing needs a lot of experience and a high crew qualification due to artificial drop dispersion and drop delays in various bomber aircraft.
- Bombers coming “late to the show” will get way less mission score, SL & RP as bombing ground ai is providing less and further increases their risk to get shot down.
Evidence:
- Replay match on Front Line Mozdok
Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On - Replay match on Front Line Kursk
Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On
Gaijin should be able to reproduce this bug just by using all of the 3 bases maps in test flights.
Recommended solution:
- Re-open the enemy airfield as valid bomb target after the last of the 3 bases is gone - or:
- Add a 4th base like on all standard maps and let them respawn
I would prefer solution #1 as this would re-implement the general purpose of flying bombers: Attacking mainly strategic targets whilst having an actual game impact. Winning with the win condition “enemy airfield destroyed” was even before the current bug ultra-rare; keeping this option would support gaijin’s statement that they want to strengthen bomber game play.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
