the mig-29 looses all its speed as soon as you strat turning,
you can go from 0.8 mach to 300kph in half a turn
every thing at 12.7 can easiely beat hte mig-29 in a dogfight
the only thing the mig-29 has going for it is the r-27er which cannot be used effectively by the mig-29, at long range, because of its abyssmal radar
ontop of that you are just outclassed by the f-14 in bvr because they can just spam phoenixes and fakours at you across the map
so then you decide to go into close range becuse you cant do anything at long rang and then you are getting violated by a f-16 in a dogfight
and if you are lucky you might get on sombodys 6 in a dogfight and try shooting an IR-missle at him,
to bad you only have the r-60m which rather goes for a campfire than the 1000°C afterburner directly infront of you
btw the mig-29 dosent have the best rwr so you dont even know what is pinging you
so basically ever single aspect of the mig-29 is outclassed by planes at its br and in some cases by planes at a lower br
bro there is a harrier and the flying brick tornado in the same BR range as the mig 29s it is not the worst airframe at the BR. I agree that top tier is hypercompressed but its not the worst plane around the area by any means whatsoever
that was why the aim 54 was so brilliant tbf, just multipath and you are safe 90% of the time
its a jack of all trades. it doesn’t need to be a master of any as overall its an acceptable aircraft
This is not true, the Mirage 2000 in 12.7 are capable of beating him in dogfight but any Mig-29 player with more than 5 IQ should be able to win against him.

to be fair the 2000-5f gets MICA which are the best dogfighting missiles at the moment so it has a big compensator in that
the jack of all trades that might have an accurate FM but has to fight UFOs all day
and is still missing it signiture weapon the r-73

I’m sorry, but the Mirage 2000s in 12.7 are very easy to counter, where the Mig-29 loses 50% of its speed, the 2000 loses it entirely. Knowing how to keep speed to face a delta wing should be the minimum for a sim player.
i mean it can still kinda hold its own. I have kicked a C-S5s teeth in with harriers a few times so its not all super good, its certainly one worth skipping,
that would mean it goes higher in BR and will be bullied by the eurocanards in every match you don’t want that
they should just remove the r-27er from the 29 and give it the r-73
Too bad the 2000 has less lift and less thrust than the Mig-29 which makes it less effective in dogfight, I played both planes and frankly I don’t see how you can say that the 2000 is better than the Mig-29, the only advantage that the 2000 will have will be during the first turn after a frontal pass because it will steer better than the Mig, but after this turn good luck regaining energy in the turn
