I know the F-2A was consider up there with the Rafale and Typhoon in dogfight performance (but I will admit, I dont know if the ADTW differs in terms of FM). The Gripen definetly holds the CM advantage, but the F2A ADTW definetly holds the missile advantage, even at the best of times. Aim-9Ms are not good in a dogfight. AAM-3 are definetly a notable upgrade.
If the fight is starting at longer range, then Aim-7M with AESA vs probably nothing, but maybe Skyflash DFs with M-scan is a pretty significant advnatage to the F-2 there as well
Just wanred to add that 7M with AESA is no different and probably worse than 7M with an older radar, there doesn’t seem to be a single difference when it comes to hard locking. The only radars at around this BR that don’t lose lock just cause are the russian ones lol.
Yeah, but the AESA gives you a considerable advnatage in being able to locate targets and acquire the lock over an M-Scan and Aim-7M vs Aim-7E-2 is likewise a signficant difference
Foxhunter does wierdly well on the Tornado F3, which is rather surprising
I guess? Doesn’t the 7E2 have the gimmick in that they have a better short range acceleration and therefore, it could win the trade against a 7M at a shorter range?
Also on the Tornado, you are right, very reliable for a 12.0.
I dont know. I know Skyflash DF gets a slightly larger prox fuse radius, so in a dogfight, the Skyflash DF would probably perform better than the Aim-7M as it would be harder to defeat kinematically. but I seriously doubt many Gripen A users are running more than maybe 1x Skyflash as you have to give up a BOL
Does grippy beat the flamker though? If not 13.0 grippy is also.on the trash pile.
A jet thats faster, has better and more missiles and now a FM that bests an f16. My love for WT is being replaced with hate . The game is shambolic BR 11.0 amd above - which is mainly what i play .
HMD + R-73 is a powerful combo to close performance gaps, but I wouldnt be surprised if after the buffs the Su-27 could at least hold their own for more than long enough to get a few missiles off
Completly agree. i refuse to play a game where its rigged to the point you cant win unless the opponent makes mistakes.
F16 has a great FM that gives it its BR even with weaker missiles. Now it vs lobbies of flankers that all have bettter FM.
The f16s under 13.3 are literally dead. Never even seen 1 person asking for flanker buff only mig 29. Grippy also dead if flanker beats it 1 vs 1. Not much ledt to play after mig25 has ruined lower BR
I apologize, guys.
Everyone is happy with the Su-33 at 13.0, which has 6 x IRSSM + 6 x R-27ER (5.8 Mach SARH+IOG+DL)?
And don’t tell me it’s in balance because it’s not premium.
The ADTW has the same FM. All F-2As have the same weight, bar maybe a few Kg difference in radar weight between the J/APG-1 and -2. But also, the ADTW we have in game is just flat out the same spec’d version as the TT one.
The biggest issue other than the BR compression are Aim-7 perfomance. They are a whole tier worse than the 27ER, worse in <10km perfomance thant the regular 27R.
This makes F-2A ADTW inadequate in SARH battles with 13.0+ 27ER slingers in all scenarios be it BVR or head on fights on the deck.
The same applies to the F-15A. The plane is somehow supposed to be equal to Su-27 without TWS and worse missiles. It clearly shows in its’ perfomance.
Flankers get beaten by F-16s, F-2A, Gripen, F-15A, F-18…
@SerPounceAlot
F-15A has similar missiles, superior flight performance, superior radar, superior RWR, and superior countermeasure count.
Not having TWS and marginally longer range missiles doesn’t dismiss the other benefits of the platform.
And citing player skill being worse on F-15A disproves your claims.
We cant know what and why is stopping them, it’s just a matter of fact that air premiums higher than top BR minus 1 are a taboo.
However, given that 14.7 should be imminent at least for the new 4th gens, we might as well see those su30’s move up to 13.7 as said taboo would allow.
