What is the point of notching against Fox 3 without a competitive Fox 1 or Fox 3 of your own. Sure you can notch, but that doesn’t stop the enemy from closing in on you while you can’t retaliate.
Yeah, that’s compression, you have to fly defensive in uptiers, if you go on the deck because you can’t notch you are basically giving the enemy a free kill.
You are at the mercy of the enemy, you don’t benefit from going high because your weaponry is not suited for that, and top down shots will most likely kill you either way if you multipath. As you said, this is compression, but notching without being able to retaliate is only going to delay the inevitable and in the end, you might get more kills by hugging the deck and being sneaky, even if it is a dumber strategy.
The simple way to fix it is by undoing the artificial nerfs on the AAM-3 and moving it up to an appropriate BR (most likely 13.3)
How is a better IR missile going to make it go up to 13.3 without ARH? Lol.
A borderline unflareable, 40g missile with more range than even the AIM-9M at 13.0 would be too powerful

I mean, if you compare it to the Su-30s, yeah it would be worthless, but lowkey I don’t think it would be much worse compared to the other 13.3s if it had IRL accurate AAM-3s…
The issue is though, however, that said other 13.3s are already really suffering. And lowkey being a mid 13.3 would be even worse then it right now being a mid 13.0.

It doesn’t matter how good the IR is, it’s never going to compare to long range top down shots from an ARH. Even the 27ET has double the range of the AAM3 and you see them freely in 12.7 and 13.0 already, IR missiles are not meta due to how the game works. Maybe if there were fewer vehicles per match it would be a different story, but right now you can’t do 1v1s or reliable get close to anybody for an IR kill without getting ganked. Firing top down IR missiles works not only because they are harder to flare, but also because players are not paying attention, you would be surprised how many kills you can get with the 27ET using the same method, and you don’t need to be anywhere near as close as you would have to with buffed AAM3, let alone the current ones.
So, fun facts:
The F-2A ADTW is a 13.0 aircraft, which is typically:
4/4.5th gen with IRCCM
Or, 3/3.5th gen with ARHs but no IRCCM
If the ADTW gets fox 3s, it would be literally the same as the tech tree F-2A, and would have to go to 13.7, and there are no 13.7 premiums currently
The F-2A also cannot go down, since 12.7 fighter aircraft cannot have R-73/AIM-9M level IRCCM missiles
However, the Su-30MKKs cant go up (not really, they kinda should) because of there being no 13.7 premiums, and not being on par with other 13.7s

The F-2A ADTW has never been a SARH slinger, its best as a dogfighter, and to use the AAM-3s, woth using AIM-7s to kill people up high who dont know how to notch, aka, Su-30MKK players
lets be absolutely real, the Su-30MKK is 13.7 premium in all but actual BR (as in, its criminal its still sitting at 13.3).

f-2 imo is one of the better 13.0s, only behind the flankers. its great cm count and best fm in that entire br range makes it super OP in the right hands. aam3s are downright nasty and aim 7ms get the job done most of the time.

I dont think there being “no 13.7 premiums” would stop them in the slightest, Technically not top BR as thats 14.3 and they’ll probably increase the max air BR in the next BR change in a few weeks anyway, which is when the Su-30Mk2 would be moved
With the recent buffs, they are on par with the 13.7s quite easily.
And if you get the flamker in range he just dumps on you with god tier FM.

Somethings gotta give. F16s having worse fms and fox 2 are same BRs as flankers… the old f16 is 13.0 becaise of FM has left the building.
