Thailand is increasingly buying almost exclusively Chinese Military Exports however. Aside from the VT4 as their new MBT they also nowadays operate chinese IFVs, APCs etc.
And Thailand has a huge chinese minority in their Country making up around 15% of the whole Country, more Chinese living there than Israel/Sweden has in total
I think Israel should be a Subtree too. Maybe in USA or UK one of the two.
And Singapore as said above not necessary at all…give China instead their domestic Stuff. China could be a major Nation at high and Top Tier with just how much Stuff they still have left open to be added. I don’t get it at all why they want to fill it with an Subtree instead. Or some of the earlier Update-Decision like why give China the TOR-M1 and then…another TOR-M1…instead of the CS/SA5 earlier and by now could have had the FK-2000, LD-35, Yitian and what not and TOR-M1 to USSR / Russia like the Country who actually owns it.
Instead of the Export VT5 as Squadron it should have been the domestic ZTQ-15 in Tech Tree…VT4 / VT4A1 are fine but should have at least been foldered together and for more Top Tier MBTs there still the ZTZ99B and WZ123 (A) Y available which could be foldered with the WZ1001(E) LCT. ZTZ99-I with the other early 99’s, ZTZ96B, ZTZ98, ZTZ85 etc. lots of Stuff just alone in MBTs for High and Top Tier. Other interesting Stuff could also be VN20 / VN22 or RoC CM35 as IFV, AFT10, SH11, BK1970/90, PLL09 and what not at all. Theres so much domestic Stuff for them instead of Copy+Paste, Export or Subtree Slop…
And Singapores Stuff could just be split between multiple Countries…like the Leopard 2SG could be in Germanys Tree as a Squadron or Premium and the other Stuff to their respective Country of Origin.
Or just give everyone everything at this point really…kinda what the Game / Trees are already turning into…
I’m currently conflicted with the placement of minor nations in warthunder. My first opinion was that the vehicles those nations has should go to wherever those originated from (ie Indian T-90 for Russia). Domestic vehicles should go to a nation where it has strong militarily ties with.
However the more I think about it, the more I’m unsure about it. Lets be honest, Warthunder isn’t just about vehicular combat, each vehicle represents its nation’s engineering and technological prowess, and to see that under a different nation’s banner is insulting to say the least. I’m American, but I can only imagine how it would feel for Indian vehicles to be under the british flag or Taiwanese vehicles to be under mainland china. I would prefer if each nation gets their own TT but that’ll ruin the uniqueness of other nations.
They do seem to have decreasing reliance in US equipment with major deals being won by other nations such as the recent Gripen winning out against the F-16V, and as you said Chinese vehicles such as the VT-4 and VN-1 employed by the Army, so that’s probably part of it. I still don’t think they would solely rely on one supplier.
I also don’t feel like Ethnicity has any meaning, since it doesn’t change a persons nationality. These people are not Chinese, they are Thai.
Anyways with all that said, I didn’t intend to say there was no connection between Thailand and China, just that I believe that the Thai subtree being placed with Japan is justified since I believe there is a solid enough connection and gameplay need for it.
If anything I’d say China has a very similar level of connection since while it is mainly transactional it is more recent.
However China as it stands not only has alternative subtree options, something Japan lacks comparatively, but China also has a far greater opportunity for domestic technology. The only thing holding this back seems to be Gaijins reluctance to properly establish the Chinese modern-day superpower in-game.
Israel should be US subtree. a lot of gap in their vehicle are immediately filled by Israeli vehicles and unique stuff like Magach Hydra should be in US tree. even all those rank 8 Israeli plane should ideally stay in USA as folder planes.
Even more severe is the case of US top tier ground. The fact that they dont have rank 8 light tank and TD is just shameful. literally shoving namer after HSTVL will fix this problem.
As i said above in my earlier posts…i personally don’t mind Singapore in Chinas Tree…or Thailand…or whatever…but its simpyl not necessary. China has so much cool and interesting domestic Stuff to be added which could/would make them even a major Nation in WT at least in higj/top Tier…afaik thats also the main point of chinese China Players…it doesn’t lack any potential additions which would make it necessary to add xy slop sub-tree to fill its rank. It on its own has more than enough…and yet Gaijin refuses to add them and instrad keeps on adding copy+paste- export slop and if they add domestic stuff its nerfed to the ground and then they say o h china needs a subtree…like wat???
But i heavily disagree with your point on that Japan needs Singapore-…wel they might need Singapore or rly any Subtree bcuz Japans Tree on its own is just Ass but Singapore makes absotely ZERO sense in Japan.

This post is about India and Singapore’s placement. Questioning Israel’s (or literally any tech tree) worth to the game is not relevant and very off-topic. Critiquing off-topic statements here will not lead to productive discussion about India and Singapore. If you wish to discuss Israel’s tech tree and its worth, I recommend making a constructive post about it so we may discuss it.
After all this my POV still remains the same. Singapore doesn’t need to be in the Game at all. Shouldn’t be added to anyone.
Those who vote for it to be not in China but then vote for it to be in Japan just do so out of spite against China based on IRL Politics which have no place here.

Singapore can exist as one off premium. A-4S and F.74 is still a huge enough modification to warrant existence in the game. idc if their A4 goes to USA/Israel or their Hunter goes to GB/JP/CN, but they don’t have enough variety to be part of the game in bigger capacity like subtree.

Just saying ‘No x nation doesn’t need it’ is not really constructive. Anyone is fine to voice their opinion on the topic as that’s what the purpose of the forums is for. But do so within the guidelines of the forum, Any hate towards a certain nation or mention of current affairs will be taken down and dealt with.
This is not pointing out anyone specifically, More so of a general comment to anyone wishing to post.
