Disappointed with a lack of independent TT option for India. A South Asian TT wouldve been nice.
Lmao, what? Definitely not exclusively.
Even the Royal Thai Navy’s submarine acquisition only recently moved forward after years of deadlock — and that’s because the S26T submarines were originally supposed to be fitted with German MTU engines, which China failed to secure. As a result, the project stalled, and Thailand ended up in a difficult position after having already paid more than half of the contract amounting to $237 million with only 37% of the total cost remaining. The RTN was eventually forced to concede that China could proceed if it could provide credible proof that its indigenous engines could match the performance and longevity of the German ones.
The entire submarine program has left a sour taste, especially since it was the former junta government that pressured the RTN to select the Chinese design back in 2014.
The same can be said — though with a more positive outcome — for the VT-4 tank acquisition in 2016, also made under the junta. That deal was better received due to the quick delivery and decent operational performance of the tanks.
In recent years, however, the Royal Thai Armed Forces have shown little interest in further Chinese-made systems. The new Gripen E/F contract was signed just this August, and the upcoming frigate acquisition program looks set to favor South Korean designs instead of Chinese ones.
Thailand’s relatively close relationship with China is more a product of Beijing’s growing regional influence than of any deliberate strategic alignment on Bangkok’s part. In fact, Thailand cannot be fully comfortable with China’s regional moves — particularly as Beijing arms Cambodia, with whom Thailand has long had uneasy relations. The PLAN’s joint base in Cambodia and Phnom Penh’s acquisition of two free Type 056 frigates are especially concerning for Bangkok.
To me, Thailand is simply being pragmatic. The same can be said for Vietnam, which maintains formal defense cooperation and even joint exercises with China — but everyone knows that Sino-Vietnamese relations are far from warm or trusting.
That’s not my point, I said Thailand is needed and there is a connection.
I agree there is individually no relation between Singapore and Japan, there is also no need for Singapore to support Japan when Thailand and Indonesia do it already.
I do not say Singapore should be added to Japan.
Nah nope Chinese shouldn’t get anyone export anymore since they don’t let anyone get their export
and Leopard 2 SG definitely should not go to Chinese if anyone should get it should be Germany.
I find funny when people want india as an independent tree bc at most they have like 6 unique airframes and maybe like 2 helicopters, its not enough for a indpendent tree
If Singapore wouldnt go to China as subtree, sure… it can be subtree of the Germany or the United States, it will be not go to Japan! Because Singapore’s vehicles were not purchased or built from Japan :) also didnt use Japanese technology.
By the way, because of the Taiwan is China too, part of China, Taiwan vehicles are Chinese vehicles too. And Pakistan vehicles were purchased from China. u will find their vehicles, helicopters and aircrafts were already rolled in the China maintree, they r not subtree :)
So China doesnt have any subtree :\
Should be though, they have some interesting vehicles and good connection to China.
I don’t think there is a good military relationship between Japan and Thailand, because I have never heard of any news reports about that. I believe that Thailand has a very good military relationship with the United States. As for the Thai subtree, I think the Devs are more likely to break it up and disperse it in the main lines of the United States, China and Japan to avoid sensitive issues, pretty much both the US and JAP have the Stingray. On top of that, Japan even snagged Thailand’s M60A3 TTS and the BM Oplot-T, but China’s kinda stuck with just the VT4 in their main line.
Look, everyone keep debating on where to put the Thai subtree, but the devs seem like to be scattering those vehicles across the US, CHN, and JAP mainlines. Honestly, that approach could work for Singapore too — just spread their stuff around. I mean, it makes perfect sense when you think about it: since plenty of countries actually use this mixed bag of international gear, it would be totally unrealistic to ignore where weapons came from or who ended up using them. Besides, this neatly gets around the whole… sensitive topic, doesn’t it?
???
German? On the basis of ONE leopard? This is more insane than JP or UK NGL.
Look, here’s my take. Like I’ve said before, the devs already have a nice try with Thailand(You could say it’s a kind of experiment) : just spread Thai vehicles across different mainlines. They could do the same with Singapore – distribute SG vehicles across several lines, like Germany, the US and UK, or Japan and China, what ever which specific trees. Ultimately, it’s the devs’ job to decide which lines work best; they just need to put more time and thought into it.its not my problem ;)
Poll - Is Singapore and India's current planned Sub-Tree locations healthy? - #123 by Blast_p_p_ilot
We should note that if more of these “international” vehicles are added in the future, this won’t just be a Singapore-specific issue, right? There r already plenty of vehicles with different countries of origin and use. So for such cases, why not distribute them across multiple lines? I think the devs are clearly experimenting with this approach. Look at the Chinese line—they’ve incorporated Pakistan and Thai vehicles into the mainline, while Thai ground vehicles have also been split between the U.S. and Japanese trees. It’s a smart way to avoid sensitive subjects, right? :)
Well the reason is the news about said military ties is long before many if not all of us in the forums are born.
It’s already consolidated there beside Japan. That doesn’t seem fair to Thailand, especially when the issue lies outside of Thailand itself.
No. people were fine with Thailand. No complaints for how many months. December 2024 Thailand branch was added. August 2025 is when Chinese players start debating where they should put Thailand because of a single tank Thailand bought fairly. This brought in everyone else into the debate because it’s ridiculous.
That seems quite convenient for thee, not for me.
What? Which Thai vehicles are in China and the US?
No subtree or nation should ever be broken up, this is not fair. In this case Thailand would suffer, as they would lose their home, Japan would suffer over losing the support.
And all of that over a completely unrelated issue to either nation is not fair.
Also for China I do agree they aren’t treated fairly and things should change. But this change should not be harming other nations, but heloing the Chinese nation instead. Thailand does not deserve to suffer, neither does Japan, instead China should simply be treated better.
It’s not debated, it’s a fixed subtree. There is also no Thai vehicles outside of The JP/TH tree, since the Chinese VT-4 is the Norinco-owned demonstrator that is visually different from the Thai tank, and placed under the Chinese flag.
I strongly disagree with spreading any nation. I like playing national lineups, for example playing Thai vehicles as a lineup full of Thai vehicles. This is not possible when they are spread across multiple techtrees. I also imagine many other players would agree and want to do this with their home nation especially.
No nation should be worth less than another, so no nation deserves to be spread around.
China is a misconception, because Thailand bought VT-4s similar to the Norinco demonstrator in the Chinese tree. Differences are mostly visual, but also Thailand uses BTA4, not DTC10-125 like the tank in the game.
For the US they got a Thai service Stingray because they were too lazy to make a US specific model of a prototype. Technically this one is intended to be a US vehicle too, it’s just done based on the inaccurate assumption that the Thai tank is somehow the “standard production Stingray”, just because it’s the only mass produced one.
Neither of them are under the Thai flag either.
India is a great addition to Britain. It’s really a pity that it get a teaspoon of content per year (and often it’s prem/squadron/event), which greatly limits its sub-tree potential.
Frankly, why shouldnt Singapore go to America? It’s basically the same tree, so there would be zero harm in just giving the americans leopard 2SGs and hunters, while the aircraft remain balanced. I dont get why people vote for japan?
It’s likely that if Singapore does get moved from where they announced it that it will either go to the US or Israel.
Yeah, just delete Israel tree and adding it with Singapore to US TT, not only US get a subtree but the game also got 1 slot free for adding countries that actual having the potential like Turkey (+middle east) or Korean Peninsula
Nah Israel is fine, and tbh I wouldn’t be against more small nations even if they also start at rank 4, as long as they have enough unique stuff to offer. Israel has some unique vehicles and pretty unique modifications of their imports, and for example India would be a similar case
Personally speaking I don’t think they got enough vehicle to being a independent TT, instead of being a independent TT I think they should just pick some interesting vehicle and added to US, then US TT will got some backup plan for future update
For singapore yes, but not for Israel
