I’m trying to figure out how common it is to accept an apology for teamkilling.
Specifically in Air Realistic Battles, however general answers are ok as well!
Should Gaijin weigh whether a teamkill apology was accepted when making ban and or suspension decisions?

I play a lot of Ground AB, where the only way to get TKed is to have a teammates arty fall on you, in which case I generally accept the apology, after all, I should have seen the smoke shells. When it comes to Ground RB, I also try to accept apologies, but if someone bombs me for no reason or shoots my plane down, I don’t accept.

If the TK was intentionally caused then I dont accept the apology, same for TKs that happens when someone tries to steal my kill using IR missiles. But if the TK was unintentional or caused by some bugs in that case I accept the apology.
its always about the scenario, if i get TK from an fox3 that someone fired when i was in a dogfight with an enemy then no it was totally his fault that he killed me, the same when i am behind someone and someone else comes an when he shouts trying to kill the enemy he hits me that i am already in he’s tail
The opposite is when i get in the middle of a fight then its my fault and i accept the apology as it is my fault. Also when a fighter TKs me on prepose when i am in a strike aircraft so he can get the base and have the audacity to ask an apology its funny. (or when some people TK me because i was playing Israel and then ask for an apology)
If a TK was caused by genuine stupidity where it was obvious it would result in a TK or obviously intentional, then no. But accidents do happen from time to time. In which case I do accept them

Almost all of the times I get TK’d its by pure stupidity or actual intent. So I almost never accept apologies.
But it doesn’t matter really, that feature its just something to make people who get TK’d feel like they have some way to punish it.
It serves no purpose, and teamkillers only get a short temporary ban if they really abuse it almost every match, in practice, whether you accept or not the apology won’t have any bearing on that
To be fair this isn’t a poll on how the accept apology option may or may not be weighed by the company. It’s a poll on whether you do or do not, or under what circumstances you do or do not, or if you even know it’s an option.

Depends on situation.
In GRB only real way you get TKd is by someone bombing you. I almost never accept those apologies because why the heck are you bombing so danger close?
In Air it depends. Sometimes a missile goes completely random in a way the person who fired it would never expect. Fair enough, Ive had the same thing. But if you’re firing missiles into a close range dogfight then no im not accepting your apology.

I only accept teamkills apologies when he actually apologized in the chat or the escenario was understandable. For example, Im crippled, an enemy near and both die to a bomb, or when I get shot with a radar/ir missile while we are chasing an enemy plane, etc.
Tho I must say must of me getting teamkilled was obviusly intentional, getting tk by another heli when doing rocket rush, friendly spaa shooting me down, etc.
I acknowledge some people even when apologizing doesnt even accept the apology, I would say bc of lack of knowledge or just still mad. So ban and suspensions decisions with this features should be thoroughly reviewed.

Is that where “scenario was understandable” comes into play?
I know some vets use one armed controllers/foot pedals. As well as some people play on the big screen in the living room with just a controller.
I doubt its smth physical related, probably they just ignore the message in their face of accepting TK apology. Kind asame people that do not hit the thanks button after getting helped repairing.

I’m trying to better understand the reasoning behind various responses.
I generally accept teamkill apologies, but i dont accept them when im in an SPAA and got killed by a friendly plane. You have a targeting pod and the ARMs literally tell you the type and location of SPAA youre about to shoot at, you can at least do some basic positive ID.
