Separation of vehicles would not work, many of the rank 1 vehicles are pre war for some nations, also there are post-ww2 vehicles at lower brs, there are also post war prop fighters, pre war ships, and other things that i dont care to include, also, what do you class as ww2? IS-7 devlopment started in 1945, is that ww2? surely the same people who wish for seperation of vehicles based on era will not enjoy such tanks being thrown at them, Centurion can also be said as ww2, FJ-1 (if added) the first variant of the F80 in game is ww2, and a lot of german jets are ww2. it just wouldn’t work
This is funny considering he was describing sim, maybe he still wanted team markers because hes so used to pointing and clicking?
I didnt mention sim
Boring old non argument
It is an argument nonetheless, if you choose to ignore it then i count your arguments as invalid as well. you are denying the basic truth.
Woah now, you’re running the risk of making sense, we don’t want that do we /s
Its the Stereotypical separation of vehicles by era posts, they never think of balancing.
The look of surprise on the face of “historical balance” supporters when their Pz.IV and StuG III faces Sho’t and Magach tanks is too funny.
Or when an M18 player finds himself facing T-55s, IFVs and T-72 modifications.
Oh well, guess those irl crews should’ve learned about historical balance /s
in all seriousness Britain, Germany, and America would dominate arb with era matchmaking, since those were the only countries with jets during ww2, same for ground, except in ground itd be America, USSR, and Britain, but they dont think of that, lets not count minor nations since they’d all be horrible.
Israel would be literally unplayable, as would Sweden for a huge portion.
Honestly chinese late jet tree would be the most insane since 9.3 J7 should be on BR of F14 and everything after it even higher
Technically China would miss out on a very large chunk of WW2 equipment, as large portions of it cane post war.
Also R2Y2 literally can’t face everythings because it is paper planned stuff.
with era brs planes should come with every load out possible, meaning that J6A and J7II would both recieve PL-5, and the Taiwanese F5’s would get aim-9l and F-100’s would get aim-9J
You cant seprate them tbh their some ww2 vics that served post ww2 so to seprate them is to cause more inaccuracies what you really want separated is korea and nam era tanks as that was the start of a new kind of tank useage and increase of threat
Sorry to say this so frank - but the YP-80 A achieved nothing and the first Meteors killed 12 V1s and performed some ground pounding, nothing else.
Both were crap from a technological aspect compared to the 262 - and ,ofc, from a combat aspect regarding critical and tactical mach numbers.
The F-80-C in game is a 1948 model; the in game Meteor F.3 is in jet terms way too slow (870 vs 755 kmph). The best British late war fighter is the Spit with the BR 7.0; actually the only allied fighter positioned correctly if you would assume the 7.0 BR of the 262 A-1 is correct…
Despite being far away from being an expert - this is imho flat wrong from if you take VE day as a hard cut. The doctrine and numbers were decisive not technological aspects.
So imho this whole exercise is pointless and purely academic - without considering all relevant factors it makes no sense follow this path…
you are blatantly ignoring all of the Aspects of this game, A Meteor is still a jet, and WW2 i see is anything Designed during the time frame. you cannot shape this to how you want it.
this means nothing in this game.
Because it’s not a historical matchmaker kind of game. Your assertion was that if it was, then X. Wick’s response was that if it was, then Y.
So saying “but this game doesn’t work based on history” is redundant. You already both agree on that premise, and are discussing a hypothetical.
I think you missed this:
…and who is now ignoring what?
What you see as WW2 is your personal pov. Like the same guys arguing that post war stuff like a Hornet or F2G is a WW 2 fighter. They are not, because they saw no service in WW2.
If you want to distinguish WW 2 from Cold War - the easiest point of time is the end of WW 2.
And - i can shape this like i want - see my first point, as this is an academic discussion.
And you missed the whole point of this thread, some guys like to see a hard cut and the debate is about where the correct points of time might be.
