Please dev buff the F4J(UK) im begging you šŸ„ŗšŸ‘‰šŸ‘ˆ

The whole point of a the missile is to track the target you have locked, not a target 45°off boresight.

What sparrows do is realistic behavior from sidelobes or the sparrow going after a stronger return. Sparrows do not look for ā€œyour lockā€ they look for the strongest radar return in front of them.

No they don’t, they do not do that in real life, it’s an artificial nerf.

Everything I’ve read suggests they do. Either way, this conversation is over. I am more than happy to discuss the 12.0 meta from the other conversation.

Are you sure about that?

Sarcasm?)

Of all the missiles I have used so far, the Aim-7E and the Skyflash are the ONLY ones I have had the displeasure of seeing track a target that is not what my radar locked.
My SuperTEMPs, R-27R1, R-27ERs, and Aim-7Fs that have been fired at me have never suffered this issue. My friend who got the F/A-18A in the British tree also said he never had those issues, only had them while he was spading the FG.1.

I again make note of the youtube short I have. Perfect hardlock on a Mig-23, and upon launching my Skyflash, it tracked my ally.
My SuperTEMPs do not do this.

I am not saying otherwise. What I’m saying is that they do exactly what you want them to do when used correctly and don’t when you don’t use them correctly. You should not be firing sparrows at groups of players. You should not be firing sparrows at two people in a scissor fight. You should not fire sparrows at a furball etc. Fox-3s have this same issue of wanting to switch targets constantly when other targets enter their FoV and people often like to blame the RECEIVER of said missile (often a teamkill) instead of realizing they fired it incorrectly at a group where the missile had the opportunity to change targets.

I rarely have this issue because I make sure to practice good target selection.

There wasn’t an ally in front of me when I locked the Mig-23, only a group of enemies. My allied Mirage flew in front of me as my missile flew out. I’ve had them fly off for no reason as well, not tracking an ally. Its just a wonky missile. I’ve never had any of my Fox-3’s TK an ally, as they tend to prioritise the target you launched on or are giving them updated targeting data from a TWS lock, and I’ve lobbed Aim-120s and R-Darters into furballs and groups of players. Again, this issue is only with the Skyflash and Aim-7E.

Same result as what I said above though at least maybe it will hit an enemy instead.

I can assure you its extremely common. I am often the RECEIVER because I get into late game dogfights and people fire fox3s with no concern for TKing. TWS updates wont prevent a fox3 from switching to the wrong plane if the wrong plane crosses directly in front of its FOV in a high-radar return aspect. These fox-3s are only slightly smarter than IR missiles in this regard.

Okay, let’s go through the list of 12.0 jets.

F-104S.ASA - not a bad jet, if people didn’t zomb bomb. Has a okay radar, no experience with it unless it’s identical to the F-104J’s. Fast, can’t turn, overall decent plane. (Obviously with a better computer and Targeting system for Sparrows, I was talking about the F-104J’s radar being similar)

F-4J/S/J(UK) (basically the identical naval family of F-4 Phantom II’s) - Good weapon total, no internal guns, quiet ā€˜alright’ radar, nothing special, there are better at the BR. Sparrows flake on random targets, and especially love the MiG-23 for some reason. Flight model is akin to brick, despite this it can dogfight if you play your cards right, or get a good hand.

FG.1/FGR.2 - F-4E airframe with a F-4S/J radar. Basically a worse maneuvering version of these two, but hey, you have cyclical rate and a good velocity now at least for your gun.

Mirage F1C’s - Really, Really good plane for the BR, IRCCM missiles at 12.0, good thrust, good maneuvering, guns are slow but hit hard like the ADEN. No complaints, should probably be 12.3, very similar playstyle to the Mitsubishi F-1/T-2.

JA37D - One of my favorite planes, and possibly best performing on this list. BOL countermeasures, good AOA and Instantaneous, fairly strong engine, good turn around times.

Tornado’s - I haven’t played them and don’t really intend to, everyone trashes on them, to me it feels like it’s an F-4EJ KAI at a slightly lower BR.

A funny about that nerf is, I shot at a F-4S, missile skewed way off on a MiG-23, Missile consistently tracking, once a few clicks closer I launched again second tracked the F-4S, both tracked in for a double kill.)

I digress, your experience is different from mine in this regard. I have been TK’d in top tier mostly by IR missiles though.

Honestly love the Tornado F.3. Once I got the Skyflash SuperTEMPs it was like the sun arose on a dark night. It has one of the strongest if not the strongest radar at 12.0 with one of the best RWRs as well and an insane amount of CMs thanks to being one of the lowest BR planes to carry BOL pods. Only problem is that it has a dogshit flight model which has been bug reported but Gaijin hasn’t accepted it and I’ve all but given up hope on the Tornados getting a decent flight model one day in the future. The last victory we had with the Tornados was when the F.3 Late went down to 13.0 from 13.3.

I’m not the best player in the game with the plane and am currently in the process of fixing my K/D in it as it was a learning process during the stock grind.
But I most certainly do love the F.3 quite a bit.

Awful jet, has the worst RWR in game you can get. AUDIO ONLY RWR, NO VISUAL, faces 13.0

No, they’re not. Educate yourself.

No. Magic 2 one trick pony.

worst accel of the general 12.0s. dogfighting performance is OK against gen3s, terrible against gen4s. In a direct dogfight this is worse than the F-4S.

No.

Ok, this happens so often I found an example from just yesterday. I am the F-18 Hornet that gets teamkilled. You can see the missile swap targets in real time.

Literally any person not brainrotted will say otherwise…

No, you’re right, they are based on the F-4J, I thought there was a variant based on the F-4E. I’d have to look into the engines, otherwise it’s a better F-4J essentially.

Amazing argument, call anything you disagree with ragebait.

Great argument, imply I’m braindead so thats why I disagree.

Compare your statshark and mine and get back to me.

Oh, yeah, statshark that one thing programmed by a cheater, hacker, racist, neo nazi, and is actively tearing the game apart with the live game viewer.

Anyway, I really don’t care. Comparing player stats is a pointless argument, this isn’t a player comparison, this is a jet capability comparison.

I’m sorry I actively choose to play the game how I like for fun and don’t sweat like 8 year old kids on fortnite, but you aren’t going to get under my skin by saying ā€œErm, ackshully you should compare out player statsā€

If you’d prefer, use the in game profile viewer. Same result.

No, this is you replying with ā€œragebait, you’re braindeadā€ and me saying ā€œyou’re far worse at the game than meā€ as a response. Guess which one of those two things has merit.

I play the game for fun. I’m just not bad at it. You would not be getting this as a response if your previous reply was not ā€œragebait, also you’re braindeadā€. If you want respect, do not give disrespect.

Because almost everyone, even people I know who have played the game since its inception all agree the F1C isn’t hot dogshit like you’re trying to paint.

I didnt call you brain dead, I said you have to be brain dead to think it’s a bad plane.
