w reversing in front of guns 😭
F-15J at 12.7 is insane. It has invisible IR missiles, good radar and OK´ish sparrows and a shit ton of CMs. It will seal club the bracket. It was fine at 13.0. For what reason should it go to 12.7?
They don’t understand that RWR performance is a very important factor in adjusting BR in SB.
There are countless examples, such as the Su-27/33, MiG-29A/Sniper, and MirageF1C/CT, and this is evident from the fact that there is no difference in BR between these combinations.
They aren’t anymore
Naturally, I couldn’t agree with it, but I understood.
“We don’t know much about SB either, but as long as we make the same adjustments as AB/RB, it should be fine.” That was Gaijin’s foolish thinking.
The big problem is that there are aircraft with flight models whose evaluations tend to be polar opposites between AB/RB and SB.
Specifically, these include aircraft with a large gap between their instantaneous maximum turn rate and their optimal turn rate. In many cases, such aircraft perform best with tightly controlled AoA, making them incompatible with mouse aim mode. On the other hand, there are many cases where their performance changes dramatically as soon as we use them with sim controls or joysticks, which allow for precise control.
And the F-15 is a prime example of this.
In fact, it’s not just the F-15, but aircraft that I and other SB players describe as powerful energy fighters that tend to be panned in the AB/RB community. I’ve always wondered why that is, and recently I’ve finally begun to understand.
I think this is an example of Gaijin simply applying the same assessment of a model whose movement performance was underestimated in mouse aim mode to the SB due to their short-sighted thinking.
But at the same time, when they decide to not change SB br’s we frequently end up with problems this very post’s original message is about, planes ruining the mode because those were forgotten.
Unfortunately its a tricky situation which would only be solved with Gaijin investing a single knowledgeable human being into looking at it. But SB doesn’t generate enough revenue for all that.
It has almost 300 counter measures, Irrccm, it can sustain 40AOA per the gauge in the bottom left of cockpit. It can recover speed in a dog fight extremely well. It has a very tight radius when rating between 450kt - 380kt. It is cracked as hell. Moving it down is a horrible decision. Think about this. That plane will be facing 11.7. That’s stupid.
Does redside even have a mog 29 with irccm at 12.7. I can agree with the f15A moving down if the mig29A and sniper get r73 and keep the r27er.
At this point I’m openly acussing the game of making unbalanced br brakets to encourage Premium vehicle sales.
Ok, good about moving up some planes, but what about moving some down?
Example, the F-16AJ, good flying model, but an very simple radar and mediocre missiles for what is fighting against.
What do you think?
That’s a common snail movement, look 12.7 13.0, now is almost full of prems F-18 Su-30
I never mentioned any of those things,
Uh no. No F-16s need to be lowered, just use your thumbs and don’t be dumb.
It’s more like F-18A and F-2 need to move up because they are the biggest factors for killing the bracket, and F-15A being lowered will make it even worse too.
This may be an extreme example, but it’s strange to have people without specialized knowledge working on the development of a game based on a specialized field.
In particular, when it comes to the flight model, people without knowledge and experience in aerodynamics and flight simulation should not be allowed to enter the department in charge.
This game does not implement SB by adding flight simulation elements such as propeller torque and stall spin to an arcade flight game. On the contrary, all game modes use the same dynamic calculations as SB (casual-style flight simulation), and pilot assistance functions (instructor) have been implemented to make it playable as an arcade game. That is how the game actually works.
If that’s the case, then the ideal workflow for this game would be, “First, SB staff, who are well-versed in flight simulation, adjust the flight model to make it appropriate for flight simulation, and then AB/RB staff adjust the instructor functions.”
In other words, since SB is the core of this game, investing money in it should ultimately improve the quality of adjustments in AB/RB as well.
In fact, there are a lot of doubts about the historically accurate performance adjustments in AB/RB as well, and I think the issues I have raised are a big part of the reason for this.
They should realize this as soon as possible.
Reminds me of the significant change to Spitfires resulting in that goofy, varying pitch situation and when the flight modeler culprit was challenged by this community, responded “It’s not done” like SEVEN YEARS AGO!
To give a recent example, the P-47N had a mysterious tendency to spin so much that it was uncontrollable, which was left unaddressed for years, and just when it seemed like it had finally been fixed, it now doesn’t stall unnaturally and continues to turn like a Zero fighter.
I’m convinced this is definitely evidence that the flight model test flights are being conducted in mouse control mode.
It’s possible that they don’t even have a control stick, throttle lever, or rudder pedals in their development studio.
My other favourite thing is essential cockpit instruments being broken. Manifold pressure, RPM and turn & slip indicator not actually representing the aircraft’s state.
Result is you cannot trim your aircraft in test flight, you cannot try flying HUDless and you will seemingly randomly stall thinking you’re doing a coordinated turn while you have significant sideslip or skid.
Some of us suspect that INSTRUCTOR code may be leaking into sim flight model code based on the disturbing list of planes that remain docile turners while the joystick is fully locked back.
“test flights are being conducted in mouse control mode”
Maybe? Test Flight and Custom Maps have always offered slightly more generous physics than an actual, PVP Simulator Battle. To test this proposal, you may find that zoom climbs in Test Flight or Custom Battles have less gravity than you expected?
This difference was suggested then confirmed in a chat between myself and legendary Youtuber “Fahrenheit”.
Now, just for fun, one of his classic videos:
Use your thumbs, dont be dumb? Explain what that even means.
That 109 side slip ball that goes "chunk, chunk, chunk to like 5 positions? …HAAAH! What a freakin’ joke.
But, if one is motivated to get them fixed, is 3 years a reasonable turnaround time for repair? Gaijin can definitely wait us out.
Not to even mention how most attackers & bombers were, in the long past, planned to retain The God’s Eye, unobstructed RB 180 degree front view until finally replaced by those silly placeholder cockpits with their cartoonish, 2-D, non-functional instruments in ‘loving’ mockery of Sim fighter pilots to this very day. FYI, the Sim fighter community fought a bloody, 24/7, multi-day, heated forum battle just to get those garbage placeholder dashboards while Gaijin sicked their rabid rottweiler agro-mods on us who leaned heavily on the gaslighting narrative: “DO you realize how much WORK one cockpit requires? And you want ALL planes to have them?”. As if the fighter community was spoiled and acting irresponsibly toward a business that PROMISED cockpits-for-all then claimed they “never promised”…
Oops, I blogged. : )
