The P-51 and the spitfire are both faster than it. I don’t know what else to tell you. Most early jets are not going to be faster than late props. Even if they were faster that’s only coming out of a dive
I’ve done 500mph in the P-51 before. As well as the DO-335B2. Granted that was just out of a dive. I’ve done roughly 450-470mph just on the deck out right. It’s also very rare for any aircraft to be able to reach it’s top speed while fighting people.

Lol okay why should I care what some rando on WT forums thinks of me? I just checked and will say I was wrong about the P-51 being faster. Still does not discount the fact that I personally have been able to defeat a meteor in a dogfight before the P-51H. So I still stand by my earlier statement that late props can fight the jets they see.

And the Spitfire. Both are slower… as is the case in almost any jet versus prop scenario, or actually literally any rank 5 jet versus any rank 4 prop.
