Piston VS jet

Name one high tier prop that turns better or is faster than a meteor mk3

No, but I’ve played against them and have found them to be easy enough to kill. Just figure out their advantage then take it from them. Such as not turning for long times or diving with them. If I do turn it’s for short periods of time. And if they dive, I climb

Spitfire Mk24 and P-51H for both

For turn alone I’d say Ki-84

Literally anything from japan lol. Yesterday I outturned the lighter Vampire in a GRB match.

You already know he’s gonna point out that is not the meteor

Vampire should turn better, its a fair bit lighter than the Meteor. And I did that with an N1K2 no less.

Lmao, I read out ran😂

That does not mean anything considering most people have no clue how to play at those BR’s

Meteor mk3 eats every spitfire for breakfast in a sustained turn rate fight, and the P-51H is considerably worse. For speed every single prop is slower, that’s simple to verify.

I don’t know how the ki-84 flies, but it has to be considerably better than the mk24 to turn as well as the meteor mk3.

As billy said, that’s not a meteor u silly. Also the meteor mk3 turns better than any vampires, but vampires handle better at speed

It’s based on performance. No jet can currently face props that can’t be competitive battle.

Turning “better” =//= tighter/faster turns.

Its a known fact that jets generally retain their energy better in turns compared to props. So in a couple turns they are generally slow, while the Meteor still has the energy to play with their food.

Feel free to test that assumption of sustained turn rate against an A7M2.

What does that have to do with my point? A7M2 is not a high tier prop and is an incredibly slow plane to dispute a jet in a dogfight because any jet will easily disengage at will

No, that is exactly what it means. If someone turns inside you with better radius and/or rate, they turn better.
Jets, especially early jets, don’t have the engine power to sustain good turns especially when they get slow.

Yes for sustained turns. But in quick turns the 51 and Mk.24 will win. Or even just a few turns it’ll still be fine. And at that point you shoot and kill then plane. Therefore leading to no sustained turns.

Okay well all my comments are coming from my experiences so I feel that there is relevancey…

Literally just looked at the wiki (can’t check in game rn) and saw that both the props I mentioned have higher speed then meteor. Not by much but it’s there

Well that can be said for anyone and anything that does not like the fight. Just disengage. And that’s what I’m going to do with this convo :)

That’s a very important part too - you can’t out-sustain someone when you’re turning in front of their guns because their turn radius is so much better.

You can’t turn if you dead :)

Why would a meteor 1c fight a prop when it dominates everyone in 2c? Only if the pilot wants to loose on purpose.

Stat cards… Meteor mk3 goes above 770kmh at sea level, no prop can match that. Only the a2d turboprop

That’s getting out of context, the a7m2 is not a high tier prop, is like saying a biplane is a better in a dogfight vs a meteor mk3. The meteor will just BnZ at easy, same with the a7m2, and has the turn capability to stay on your six.

That’s not a turnfight lol, which defeats the purpose of this discussion. Besides, 5.3 is pretty high tier for props, it can see the P-51H.

Meteor cant turn fight a biplane, but surely can a spitfire mk24 or any high tier prop
