On my to do list is a proper radar guide because there is a lot of little things like that that people oftne miss. Like on the right hand side is a range indicator (top little line is the max range of the missile, bottom little line is the min range and the long line is the relative decent the target is currently). So if the long line is between those 2 points (and ideally in the bottom half ish) you’ll probably connect unless defeated
I know about range indicator, but I totally ignored the left hand side part. At least now I have a reason to fly the fgr2 in sim. i’m not a phantom fan, but I enjoyed a lot flying the tornado adv in the Italian tree. SuperTEMP are simply amazing in short range, better than IR i would say
The Tornado ADV is a lot fun these days, just needs a little TLC
It works way better than what you’d think within 1-2km. People may chaff and your radar will lock the chaff but the missile will still track reliably.
When the br bracket is 12.0/12.3 max you dominate easily, the only drawback is fuel. Most of my deaths are because of that lol.
F3 and F3 late are the only reason I grinded back UK, but flying the FGR 2 is so depressing…
If you’re 1-2km away rear aspect you should be using your 9G, it will either easily ignore the flares on a full afterburning target, or have like a 40% chance of still ignoring flares if they cut burner on seeing you fire and once they’ve done that they’ve lost enough energy that you’re in gun range. So still a waste of a Skyflash.
Anyway, not the point of the thread.
Yeah, I quite often run out of fuel before missiles. Its really annoying the 495 gal Hindenburg tanks are still an F3 Late exclusive. Would be fun to run on the 12.0 ADVs and the IDSs
Yeah yeah of course the aim9g is preferable and radar shots shouldn’t be your goto, however when the enemy is pre-flaring well or simply attentive skyflashes work better than expected.
Keeping in line with the thread I gotta say FGR2 isn’t as rough as it sounds here, it can work just fine as a weaker 12.0. However it’s such a waste the FGR1 is a copy paste and not aim9l or superTEMP carrier.
I never had any problem with SRC if the enemy is high enough, not notching and doing multipath obviously. From less than 10km you can look from the rear perfectly fine in SRC and use the Skyflash
Youd be surprised how many people try to flare a SARH
No. Exact opposite. NOBODY uses src. EVERYBODY uses SRC PDN HDN
