I love the sturmpanzer, don’t get me wrong. But I know if I bring it out at 5.3 I’m only slightly more useful than not being there at all. It’s selfish but fun. I don’t blame anyone for bringing it out and enjoying themselves, but if I am trying to win the game I might not hang around if I see too many low-tier less-effective vehicles on my team.
Ah fair enough, you are kind of an edge case in the game and prove that the odl problem isnt as simple as: fix maps, fix balance, make progression faster etc. because you roleplay you have a completely different reason for playing the game as many people who just want to grind as fast as they can to top teir and hate their lives. I wont question the roleplaying ww2 germans but yeah, keep doing whatever you have fun doing despite what anyone on the forums says.
if the playerbase is currently transforming into something like this, what do you expect? The policy of selling high-tier premium vehicles for newly created accounts is the stupidest thing they could have done. And I will not mention how many of these accounts are Asian farms using a bot
3 battles without a frag - forced by the game tutorial. EVERY TIME.
First of all, restore XP earnings based on performance by minimizing “play time” rewards.
Yea I agree. We didn’t have these issues when there wasn’t top tier vehicles being sold to the player base. It only reached to tier IV. Though I don’t think gaijin will go back on working on it because they make so much money from the bot accounts buying premiums and selling the accounts to make more bot accounts. An idea would be to completely hide the top tier premiums up to a certain point so that new players work their way up. That way gaijin can get a more devoted playerbase who put more time and money into the game rather than a 1 time purchase into top tier that lasts for a month or 2 and disappears.
But they are advertising and selling high BR premiums on game web page even before players sign in into game. Thats how they attract new players. They wont hide those from the store and lose money. So hiding those within game wont change much.
I am sure this happens. New player, sees all those pretty tanks, buy a premium vehicle, a month of premium time and spawns into his first battle. Well the rest you can imagine. ODL is born and hangs for 30 days. Maybe learns something or just quits.
How do they expect you to fit more than one vehicle when things like this happen so often.
I could fill the forum with similar photos, since this usually happens to me every two games on average, and if not, there are also shots that only kill a crew member, or bullets that disappear, we are going to be quite an incentive to stop playing, since it is The game decides when you kill and when you don’t, as long as it’s like that it’s normal for people to leave the games.
I 1DL because my team pops smokes in the spawn, then rush straight up the middle bypassing several enemy tanks. The few of us that are actually pushing a capture point get flanked from across the map while multiple people are trying to spawn camp them immediately. The of course die, we all die. Eight people are still trying to get out of the spawn, they’ve now capped every point and your teammates are driving to the edge of the map. I’d rather make nothing than lose 10-15k.
I say this at BR 10.3. When I played 9.0 with the MBT and XM I always spawned, never 1DL. I don’t even leave, I just sit there and observe, watch a video on YT or go for a smoke. I had 100% spawn rate. 3/3 and often 4-5 in RB. I’m a newer player in some regards, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientists to figure this stuff out. Especially the plague within high R6 and R7 vehicles. I don’t even necessarily blame Gaijin for this. It’s equally a player problem. Playing 5.0-7.7 you could feel a real determination from both teams most often. People knew what they were doing and moved around the map accordingly. In high tiers, it’s tough to explain in words. Even as a relatively newer player, I often think. “What in the f**k are you doing?” More often than not, I don’t genuinely believe they have a clue either.
From what I see being a newer player but being around these types of games for almost a decade now. In the words of a legendary Alaskan Park Ranger. “There is a considerable lapse between our smartest bears and our dumbest tourists.”
Most days, i dont have a large amount of time to play. When that happens, i just do my tasks and log off. If i get a task to shoot down planes in ground rb, i am taking a spaa and a plane. No point in me using a vehicle that cant really engage planes.
Its an issue that in the end is the fault of the Developers, as they ignore obvious flaws and issues with the game that can be fixed, balanced or removed entirely that the player (and consequently the game’s popularity) can benefit from, which overall will only be more profitable for Gaijin. Unfortunately their ignorance is the cost of this game’s popularity which has been on a decrease rather than an increase.
it is in their eyes not a problem. It is just business aka money.
If a new player buys a prem tank/plane/helo/ship and plays 30 days and leaves it is win for them.
Exactly. This became a massive issue for top tier (10.0+) ever since they foolishly decided to sell premium Leopards, Challengers, Abrams, Wolfpacks, 2S38 (which is utterly broken), ZTZs and a whole list of more-to-come premiums for top tier. They ruined the experience for top-tier matches which now can barely be enjoyed. No this isn’t a rant, this is the truth that can hardly be disagreed on.
Unfortunately, I had far too many ODL players in my team 11.7 area today. My solution is Gajijn should set MachtMaker so that both teams get the same number of ODL players in each round. This means that the MachtMaker takes into account the vehicle decks of the players. In order to get an equal team. Or we’ll finally introduce leaderboards. What do you think of the proposal?
And how would MM equalize ODLs? Player with 5 vehicle lineup can ODL the same as player with 1 vehicle. What about player with 1 ground vehicle and 1 plane? When he dies he cannot spawn anything else as he has not enough SP. He is also ODL.
this problem will stay forever in this game. It is frustrating but we just have to accept the fact that they want to earn the money and the problems they created with it to never solve.
Or seperate matchmaker for people with a prem tank/squadron tank in their lineup
The game’s popularity has been increasing. It’s not even remotely decreasing.
The entire reward system needs to be reworked to combat ODL. The current system rewards activity for each weapon. They are calculated by activity and time, but of course the potential reward cap after the second tank is basically less. No wonder no one wants to give a TT tank after a premium tank. the solution to ODL is to nerf the premium tanks, buff the TT tanks, do those things, and then buff the overall rewards. And to move from rewards being calculated individually to the entire match. Rewards should be distributed equally to tanks with BRs commensurate with their success.
the answer is to run ground R B like they run air R B . One tank and your out .That way you don’t have to kill the same guy over and over ,or worse get killed by the same guy over and over . If they would stop these senseless up tiers where one group of tanks have a huge advantage over the lower tiered tanks . no need for such stupidity . you end up with the lower tier tanks even if there able to shoot a up tiered tank they do no damage and then get killed by the very tank they just shot . then we have the inconsistent results of one’s shell . shoot a tank with your best shell and the enemy dies . Next match the same tank the same shell shooting the same tank ,but it does nothing , i get the NO PIN notification. How ,how can a shell deliver such opposing results? Does not make any sense
1DL is a learned habit at this point. If every vehicle had a free backup, repair costs couldn’t go negative, and your vehicle would time out if you didn’t use your backup, it would still happen a lot. I think players get really negative when they die and would rather blame the map, matchmaking, or their team so they can associate that negative experience with something outside their control and get into a fresh match. Buying top tier premiums and playing them exclusively to get to top tier vehicles already demonstrates the mindset of this portion of the playerbase. They had the choice to not play at all, play upgrading from lineup to lineup, or spend a bunch of money and only play endgame, and they chose the option that gets them the most advantage over others at the cost of everything else. The monetization of the game pulls impatient people to the higher tiers where 1DL is more common.
Yesterday I had a battle where my team was clearly losing. I managed to killed 3 vehicles but eventually got outnumbered.
Our bases were being spawncamped and they were 3 helis in the sky.
In this situation, I don’t bother spawning anymore. Sure I could maybe get a kill while i’m invincible but to what avail ?
A game is supposed to be fun and at the moment I know that I’ll barely have 30 seconds to live, I don’t find it useful to give a free kill to the ennemy.
Nothing to do with repairs or things like that, dynamic repair costs hugely removed this problem.
