23 has really terrible canopy better to rip it off to actually see anything head up
try in test flight, difference is huge
if this os considered a bug/exploit … well fix it

This is so fucking funny. What skill? You just lowered your own engine volume, that’s a fucking crutch. skill is filtering which sound is which, not zeroing your engine volume and abuse it to hear enemy sound.
First off, canopy off = still a rear blindspot.
Su-25, minor change, loss of rear mirrors.
Mig-21 no change, loss of mirrors.
Mig-23ML no change, loss of mirrors.
J-35XS minor change, loss of mirrors.
Conclusion: Removal of canopy offers no tangible advantage in the directions shown in screenshots.
BTW in VR people have exploited by moving their heads out of cockpits.
Looking up is a hard G maneuver when in reality you’d be angled in a sustained turn and looking up and at an angle.
Edit of context for those that don’t understand the above sentence:
There is a bar above your head in a number of aircraft, where if you have to pull certain maneuvers, blocks your view.
In the case of J35XS, if the target was at 6 high, you can actually see it because you can remove the canopy so it is no longer blocked by the MASSIVE FRAME.
Same goes with Su-25/Su-17, MiG-23s but different positions.
When in a dogfight, the enemy frequently hides between the canopy frames.
Also losing the mirrors means nothing because the massive frame of the canopy is removed.
Ah btw, hope J35XS cockpit model fix asap because they has same model with J35D.

Honestly, it is very frustrating to see players who have barely played in aircraft with terrible canopies talking as if they know it all.

Good news! You can’t “zero” your own engine volume and it is still the loudest thing you’ll regularly hear.
You literally don’t know what you are talking about.
In the case of the J35XS, the canopy can be removed and use specific key or motion tracker(Open Tack/Track IR or whatever) can provide enough visibility to make the top of vertical tail visible once the your head is moved.
If the canopy is not removed, this is not possible. Of course, 6 low is literally not visible, but that is the same for all aircraft.

Did you know that you can move your head in the game?
Some aircraft are completely blocked by their canopies, whereas if the canopy is removed, the aircraft can move its head to some extent to see enemies close behind it or directly above it, although not perfectly.
This can be a sufficient advantage in a dogfight because you don’t miss it except skill issue.

Those takes you implied were ridiculous earlier.
That is by no means rare. If they find you from high altitude with eyeball Mk.1 or radar, IRSTs or whatever and dive towards you directly behind you or just launch missiles, they will most likely hide in a blind spot in the canopy. If there were no canopy, at least the missile smoke would be visible.
And That’s mostly what I do for killing players when I’m on J-7E, MiG-23MLA/MLD.
A decent HUD and a missile seeker is all you need. For older types of HUDs like the F-4, this will not work, but for HUDs like the A-7, Kfir, J-7D/E, and MiG-23, the IR missile seeker can be used instead.
