Speed of car and supersonic jet are little bit differen. Even if you think canopies shoulden be on an aircraft becose there is no wind at mach 1. They are still there becose kf the airpresure and tempriture in hight alts. The canopy is there for the reason.
Amd no windshiled doesnt mean for every plane, like F 16.
Yes, that’s what I said earlier. Pilot should be affected by low temperatures and rapid changes in atmospheric pressure.
That’s why cockpits are made sealed and pressurized on high-altitude aircraft (even on piston GA).
But you should be able to jettisson canopy when you want to. At your own risk.
In the end, it should be limited by alt, and speed.
And it would be nice mechanic to have in warthunder.

I’m sure the engineers built the plane taking into account the possibility of losing the canopy during the flight.
He had to lose speed and he flew as slow as he needed to keep cotrol of the plane. I realy dont beleve that there is zero wind with oped canapies.
The aerodinamics changes with the speed, and if the slowes speed f16 can go is about 230km he felt the same as in car, witch again is the speed where you can win againt the force of the wind.

First two are also relevant to many planes even with their canopy on, if we include props. The rest are just symptoms.

The gear that protects you from harm also prevents you from hearing anything so I again state - you should hear nothing outside your own aircraft when flying an aircraft… same with tanks (unless you turn th tank off, which you can do, but in an airplane even if you turn it off you have wind noise and all that gear on which prevents you from hearing anything).

I read a fragment of a book by a MiG-29 test pilot. They did a test flights at supersonic speeds with the canopy removed on ground. He also described the warm air from friction that, with turbulence, entered the volume of the cockpit.
At first lets be honest. We - vr, track ir, sim fighter pilots have many disadvantages compare to bomber/tail shooter rb players which came to sim for grind. There are many non sim features that ruin emmersion. Before canopy issue we need force enable first person gunner view plus force disable 3rd person view for the bombers.
Also, untill visibility is not br changing feature we have not fair balance.
I agree that gunners should be forced into first person, but how would that be added for multi turreted planes?

The drag would be a hige issue. Streamlined canopy was a thing for a damn good reason.
Lol. If one player can multi-brain + ai give me squad of fighters then. How? Easy! Only one character can be controllable. That will be fair.
Gaijin would need to increase AI gunners engagement distances if they were to do that. Currently the max firing range is 400m, which is way too little.
*in SB/RB. In AB they are about ~1km.
