If I want to play F-16C, Merkava 4M and Leopard 2A6. I don’t think that the idea then to switch to russia for the sake of winning matches.
I an all my lineups, i only grinded them to get to those aircraft and tanks I really wanted to play. If there was a premium I directly jumped there. But I am not going to waste my precious time researching anything russian, chinese, japanese, swedish or italian if I have never an intention to play them just for having a better winrate.
I take the planes I like, which I have been either flying in real life or in sim for ages and play the tanks I have a preference on.
Like Merkava 3B which should have M338 shells but for balancing GJ doesn’t give them, although IRL IDF does use them.
If gruminator wants to play Swedish lineup and GJ fugged up their matchmaking, i can understand perfectly his frustration.
If I want to play F-16C, Merkava 4M and Leopard 2A6.
Your decision. However, this decision also involves accepting everything that the decision involves. Even if this “everything” means constantly getting hit in the face.
And even ODL is legitimate. Your decision. I don’t have to like what you do. I can respect it. You can even say I’m an arse and get on your nerves. My problem if it triggers me. At the same time, you might have to stand up for your decision to insult someone.
But before we misunderstand each other, I don’t feel offended by you. On the contrary, I like a healthy discussion.
I have a similar issue with swedish 5.7, which I simply resolve by playing it rarely. But when I play it, I try to get the most out of it, perhaps 8.0 is better… But it wouldn’t occur to me to blame Gaijin, for me not enjoying the swedish 5.7 lineup. Because it wouldn’t change one bit to the better. But if I try to learn and improve, it might. And if I decide to quit it, it might also improve things.
this problem arose because of idiots buying toptier prem tanks.
and playing on the team, to win, is pointless in 2023. especially when your tank is in stock
Two things that can help here - Play SB. At least you have better chances to avoid point and shoot players an top of it you have better chances to survive.
The only problem is that you don’t have a toptier GroundSB available all time. GJ fault.
I don’t think you understood what he wanted to say. Come hell or high water, you want something. Even though you realise that it’s not good for you or that you don’t like it, you want it so badly. Your emotional reaction even suggests slightly addictive behaviour.
Before you possibly want to strike back now. Yes, I’m addicted to WarThunder and I’m prepared to work on myself a lot so that I can continue to have fun with it.
By the way, I stay away from BR levels above 7.7 to show Gaijin that I don’t like it that way. Will that change anything? I don’t care, I’m spared the frustration. It’s the evolution of ODL, so to speak. I don’t need to ODL because I don’t enter the battle.
There’s nothing wrong with that. On the contrary. It’s just that this is an expectation that may never be fulfilled. And it’s up to us as players how we deal with it. It always gets emotional quickly when expectations are not met or, even worse, ignored and sometimes even the opposite turns out to be true.
It’s up to us to make a decision and not behave like little children. The funny thing is that many of the behaviours we demonstrate today are based on childhood experiences.
but the problem is that in this thread, people are advocating for punishing players.
Let’s say i wanted to take a bus trip across the USA, and there were 15 bus changes along the way.
Some were great, the service, the food… everything was perfect.
But some had run down busses, bad food and a rude driver.
I have payed for the whole trip (like paying premium time and buying premiums in War thunder)
I expect the company who sold me the product to fix whats wrong, so the whole trip is good, not just “it’s sometimes good”, and the last they should do is blame and/or punish the passengers.
It goes for buss travels and it goes for every other bought products.
It’s up to the company to fix shit, not just shrug and put the blame on users of said product.
but the problem is that in this thread, people are advocating for punishing players.
Let them. It is their right to speak out loud what they think. You don’t need to like it. It’s usually more about what their statements trigger in us. And how we deal with these emotions is up to us.
I would like to apologise in advance for the following wall of text. It is not easy to explain the subject of expectations.
Your comparison of the two companies once again contains your own expectations. There are companies out there that don’t care. And unfortunately that is also their right. As consumers, we really only have the following options.
point out the problem to other people, for example via reviews
tell the company about the problems experienced, regardless of whether they care or not
avoid the company and its products
The third point is one of the most difficult. It has a lot to do with renunciation and self-discipline. In the end, 1000 people may not be bothered by the quality and the company can continue as before.
To build a bridge to WT now. You may have expectations that are justified and even selfless in nature. But Gaijin has no obligation to fulfil these expectations. I myself also use Premium although I know about the problems in the game. By doing so, I am of course signalling Gaijin to accept these problems. It’s often not easy to empathise with others these days because hardly anyone else does when it comes to you or me.
It’s up to us to decide how far we are prepared to accept things or not.
I myself am aware that other players don’t leave a battle prematurely in order to get one over on me. It’s a silent protest that then affects my experience. I don’t like it. Just like you don’t like what Gaijin does or doesn’t do.
In German, the word Enttäuschung (disappointment) contains a very close explanation. In short, it means that a deception ends because we have discovered why our expectation was not fulfilled. Nobody has the duty to fulfil your expectation. Just as I cannot expect you to like what I write or what I think. Life is easier and much less frustrating when you recognise your own expectations and stop expecting others to fulfil them. That’s why there are contracts that explicitly state who expects what and who gets what for what.
Do we have a contract with Gaijin that guarantees us certain rights? At most, consumer rights that clearly regulate what Gaijin can and cannot do with us.
If you have any questions, please ask me. I’ll be happy to try to formulate things differently.
There is no fun if you fighting against “cheaters” or pay4win kids with aced crews shooting acrros the map you leave the spawn for 200m to get kill. Nobody is playing for fun if you keep losing for around 8 battles out of 10. You don’t ask why nobody is playing naval at all. The only mode has must players are AB, RB, ARB.
But they want our MONEY, and IF they want people to spend money they have to do something instead of just saying, eehh tough luck.
And tbh, i don’t see them doing much as it is.
Just look at the AA.
Some Nations have a severe lack of AA, while other have a Gazillion combined with other types of vehicles that can shoot down air vehicles.
The last 3 AAs i can think of getting into the game was a USSR, which in no way shape or form lacks defence against air and then two in the French tree AT THE SAME BLOODY BR!!!.
Gaijin truely have a vibe of… “eh… good enough for me”, and that makes me question if i should continue to buy stuff from them since they dont really give a toss, so why should i?
A poor player, novice or just somebody having a bad game are gone after two lives anyway so who cares? One DL? Two DL? What does it matter if they failed to make any contribution to their team? Why not just let every player respawn until they are out of places if numbers are so important? Use everything they have? I guess then we will have bitching about pay to win extra crew slots.
Even better … we accepted the EULA. Who has read everything it says? Not me, to be honest.
But they want our MONEY
True.
, and IF they want people to spend money they have to do something instead of just saying, eehh tough luck.
Here we come to the point of our own expectation … Gaijin has to do something or change something in order to continue earning money … and reality.
What does reality look like? We can only guess. A currently logical conclusion would be: Gaijin earns enough money not to have to change anything. It’s a kind of bet on the future. Will the players stay calm and continue to pay or will they stop? At the moment, the number of players is increasing and so is the cash flow.
Just look at the AA.

From my perspective, the BTR-152D has filled a gap and does a great job. I haven’t played any French vehicles yet and therefore have no expectations. It’s a different story with US vehicles. Yes, I have the expectation that something will happen there. I have expressed it here in the forum. That’s all I can do.
Gaijin truely have a vibe of… “eh… good enough for me”, and that makes me question if i should continue to buy stuff from them since they dont really give a toss, so why should i?
And there is only one person who can answer the question “so why should I?”. You alone.
You can ask what others think about it. And this is where the first potential for conflict arises - will the answers fulfil your expectations? We have all experienced different things and therefore have different views and expectations of certain situations. That’s why we often feel alone in such situations and have to make do with ourselves, so to speak. Which is difficult for many.
