That’s definitely why theres so many 1 death quitters because people exists like you.
I do it too very frequently when grinding a new vehicle to maximise the RP gain per minute.
Spawn, get a cap asap and a kill or two. Rinse and repeat.
Sticking for a period any longer than 2,5-3 minutes is just a waste of time. Why?
-Every consenquent destruction of enemy vehicle gives less reward.
-Every another point cap gets less reward.
-Repair costs shoot sky high.
-Teamplay makes no sense, rewards are pointless. (Assists reward nothing, repair assists reward nothing) Teammates are more of a hinderance than any help. Due to them I get less Cap point reward. They steal my frags.
I’m having fun doing it the way I’m doing now, why would I change anything?
I have no answer for you. Because it is your decision. I will not force you to change. I can give you just some advices what your decision can cause to others but I don’t think you care about such things.
If only OP and the others that share his views shared your wisdom, for you are correct. I, along with most of the player base I’d be willing to bet, play this game for my enjoyment, not the enjoyment of strangers.
Should said strangers enjoy themselves during our shared time? Good for them! If not? Not my problem.
People’s game experience will improve when they come to terms with the reality that they cannot make others do as they wish, the “carrot and stick” is an illusion. The best they can do is accept it.
Accept the folk that spawn once, if at all. Accept the players that take sturmpanzers and m22’s to higher tiers (lotta fun actually, highly recommend). Accept people that get high or drunk or some combination thereof when they play (not my thing but everyone unwinds in different ways). Accept some people are there to hold w and couldn’t give a damn about the minimap, etc.
Accept that you can only change your own outlook and how you approach the game. Folk would be much happier for it. :)
And the best is. We don’t have to agree but if we accept the perception from each other life becomes much easier.
Very good. I rarely ODL because I spawn in a tank but keep at least 2 SPAA in my line up. 3 things I like, long range sniping, dueling with another tank and killing air. Even an up tier only adds to the challenge. After almost 10 yrs and millions of SL, stats and bragging rights mean nothing, having fun does. I have had players call me out on my Stats, around 50% win rate, low KD on ground vehicles but the truth is, we all pay the same price for a cup of coffee so what do I gain if not fun?
This is why One death leave is preferable to staying for the entire match. You lose 25 minutes to hit a RP cap of 14k. Yes I can roflstomp but I gain nothing. Im more at a loss than at a gain RP wise. Even Silver lions suffer here. In those 25 minutes I could have played 15 matches in a quick succession and gained more RP as staying for the entire match.
The difference between 14k and 20-25k RP is quite big.
Well said mate.
If the team is bad you leave, not rocket science.
One player trying to win does not match 15 still learning starter maps at 6.0+, so why should one have to stick with it?
Yes, fighting to the end IS really nice, but not if yoir team are complete spanners (overall).
Yolo face smack one cap no thought is the game in 2023 so dont you mind me if I move the matches that are not dominated by the clueless!
Yes game has a million issues to start off with, but if players want to act dumb then let em play alone.
What I don’t quite understand is:
Why do you play at all? Why not just write “50000RP” on a piece of paper every few minues while doing something else in the meantime? You would have “RP” with even less time invested. The game itself seems of no concern to you anyway.
Gaijin made it so you have to grind through multiple ranks in order to get to fun stuff for some people, so more RP per minute means faster getting into BRs you want to be. So do not blame people maximizing RP gains in order to progress in game for vehicles they are interested in.
I personally also do not like WWII vehicles. There are some I play once in while for few battles but most of time I play rank VI or VII.
I’m also not gonna bother to spawn more than once if I see too many M1A1 AIM players
While I’m at a state where RP and SL are of no concern to me, I’d love to see the actual calculations that determines all that stuff. Just find it amusing how complicated they’ll make the math to prevent people from grinding “to fast”.
I don’t care myself and I understand these people sometimes.
Play lower rank battles then you don’t see M1A1 players. I’m tired to see noobs who quit after one death not on helicopter.
And then they have reached the vehicles they are interested in and - surprise- they can’t really play them because all others quit in a race for vehicles those are interesed in. And then it suddenly sucks.
Gaijin made extremely long grind in order to get to modern stuff. So those interested into lower BRs vehicles are then matched with players that do not care about those BRs.
Some people just do not like WWII vehicles because lets be honest, they are just crap. Most of them are slow, non agile machines with not so interesting armament. I also do not like how APHE is not very realistic.
And god damn bushes, trying to spot some bush wanker with shit zoom and no thermals is not enjoyable
Imo, ODLs are a symptom, you should be required to have 2 spawns (air, another tank, backup, etc.), spawn camping needs to be reduced, and CAS needs balancing.
Im still new to WT, WoT veteran, and these are the problems I see
Dont hate the player, hate the game
Is there anything you do like about the game?
