One Spawn Quitters

It starts to suck that every thread ends in a personal battle between “the doctor” and others … this helps nobody!

It is quite annoying to be honest. I don’t see why I should have to sit back and take the insults and attacks on the regular, just because I actually put out my opinion, and can point out why I hold it… But they just come in ‘No, you’re wrong’ with no actual stance other than to base it on their anecdotal and opinion of me personally.

Much the same as ULQ… He’s always jumping in making out it’s nothing, and he’s a regular.

I don’t care who will stop this or started it. But I know that I will stop reading or participating. I know … nobody cares. But I thought War Thunder got quite a decent community. But this reminds me much of old WoT-Forums …

If the ODLs are all played off as Gaijin, and their master plan to get people to buy premium vehicles, just because those who want to ODL because they can’t function have to tell themselves that, it doesn’t make it true…

And if people can’t handle hearing a counter to that, then what’s the purpose of a forum or discussion in the first place?

That’s the real issue… People actually can’t handle being opposed, and drag it out into mere insults and attacks on a whim that not everyone shares their opinion…

Then you have ULQ who comes in saying that it’s me that can’t handle their opinion, playing it off like it’s a two-way street, when they’re wanting to jump in, on a one-way street…

You know that handling other people opinion means that You don’t portray Your way of thinking as the only good thing?

You’re the one saying I’m wrong though without even considering anything, so if anything, you’re just being disingenuous.

Crew lock was implemented when players started to leave before game even started because of not likeing uptier or map. Crew lock has nothing to do with ODL.

Thread title is “One Spawn Quitters” so leaving early or leaving late is the same according to thread title.

If ODL was an issue game wouldn’t allow 1 vehicle lineups or some hard-to-spawn-again lineups.

But Gaijin allows both thus game is designed for both kinds of gameplay. They wanted for players to have full flexibility with their lineups and this is the result. Players have too much and too little control at the same time.

This is what happens when the maps get shrunk.
Bring back the older maps and the spawn no go zone!!
The one death quitters are way worse in naval battles, either way they suk 1
Add a stat on the stat sheet for how many times they quit.
Not having the spawn no go zone encourages the BDP’s who cant use their range finders , or know how to use cover to finish the battle quicker, the shrunken maps help this BS too

Just got out of a match where I got killed in the first 60 seconds of spawning, there is literally no incentive or punishment you can come up with that will make me respawn and waste my time with that match lmao.

If you’re dying that fast, from spawn, you’re doing something wrong.

Here are some advices.
Don’t run direct to cap. Even in the first minute of battle expect the light tanks to show up pretty fast. Some players got so much skill in those vehicles they kill one tank and run away just to show up a minute later in another flank without any notice and strike again.
Pay attention to the chat and the map. Yesterday I tried to warn people 5min long that there is a light tank near our own spawn. Nobody cared. They just spawned and got hit 20s later hard. They left the battle … who did a mistake? Most tend to yell at the enemy “spawncamper” … but who made it possible that this situation happend? The whole team + the enemy map knowledge.
Players tend to revisit the same spots after they got killed because they want revenge. You can use that to your advantage and hide in that area.
Try to help your team. I know I know … nobody helps you when you got problems. But this will never change if you not change. Yes there are situations where you can’t help because your mate went into a stupid situation and then it would be dump to risk to help. I often see tanks passing by repairing tanks. Those are the small moments where you can shine.
And finally work on your mindset. If you get killed the enemy was better. He knew something you don’t. Get better and work on yourself and try again. To fail belongs to the process of getting better. Avoiding the challenge will not help you. If you start up the game you are accepting all the funny little things it brings. With the click on “to battle” you commit yourself “to fight”.
Now some will show up and say that there is no challenge in fighting enemies which uses balance issues created by Gaijin. But I dare to say it is because if you can counter this balance issues.
Think about what you can do if you are in an advantage situation.
By failing and getting over it you can only win. Maybe not the battle but experience. And there the fun begins. At a higher level of experience it brings a lot of joy and fun.You think you don’t need more experience and you are the king in the ring? I suggest looking at the “Dunning-Kruger-Effect”.
When you start looking for problems in your surroundings you avoid to find problems you created. You are not perfect … nobody is … and that is ok. It’s human. Anybody who tells you that you don’t need to get better is holding you back because they don’t want to get in the situation to work on themself.
And now I’m happy to see all the “Not true, this don’t applies, you’re wrong” comments (if my comment triggers you think about that there could me more truth in it then you can handle)

My problem with ODL is, that I can’t even come up with a solution myself, which I consider viable.

I have had this situation before in a different mode and a different problem. I saw no way out, but then Gaijin came up with an amazing (to me) solution, that actually removed the problem and made games more fun. Good? No, because lots of people complained until Gaijin changed it again.

So finding a solution that pleases everyone might be impossible.

ODL will be solved when:

  • Reward system be fair (income x costs)
    *Team comunication be more clear
  • The spawn camper issue be fixed
  • MM balanced

Otherwise, it makes no sense to keep sending tanks to the battle when it is already a defeat in sight.

That can be easily fixed by squading, and being more clear yourself in your communication. People still won’t listen to you, so that is just bad luck as you likely don’t listen to everyone 100% of the time.

That’s just a sign that you are losing, and the communication then plays a part in that.

I would say that this will decrease the amount of ODL but not solve it. Some will never stop because they’ll find always an excuse to do this. And yes it makes no sense to spawn into a loss situation where everything is just for nothing.

Nah, few minutes, kill or three, on to the next one. :) Current record is 11 seconds time played. Trying to get it single digits when I get the right map but no luck yet.

You may think that’s ‘good’ to illustrate your point, but all I see is failure and pessimism, just to be ‘right’…

Why would you be aggressive? The game is set up for fliers to get the better rewards, so you’re in a happy place, if only you could get the underclass of WT gamers to keep driving the tanks, you’d be set!

Yep. I’m thinking that, if they would add the TO mode, I too could claim “confident and vocal”, without seeming aggressive at all.

I’m not 1DLing just now, or even 0DLing. It should make you happy.

I have no point lol. It’s a videogame, a toy, the purpose is to entertain yourself with it. Playing fast and loose gives me the feel good brain chemical, shrimple.

I didn’t say they were passive, I said they were pessimist… Very slight difference.
