Even better, start quitting on bad maps and uptiers.
War Thunder has elementary level balance (could be fixed in 24hrs by actual good players), therefore it is basically your duty to quit unbalanced matches.
Considering the last several posts support ODL? Should read why people ODL to begin with and it’s generally not from spawn camping. I don’t support your idea because the map design needs to be fixed first. There are maps where the spawn area is 1/3 of the map and being disabled because you walked across an invisible line is asinine.
Its 1 of the issues. I support ideas to resolve ODL, not punish people for doing so. My topic on the off side rule is to support fair play and will reduce ODL by giving players a fighting chance to come out of there spawn while being over powerd. If spawn covers 1/3 of the map then that is an issue in its self
Not really an option for some nations. Take what I’d run with a Britain 10.3 line up at the moment. I dont have all lines equal.
I’d run Challenger Mk3 as my Primary, Challenger DS as my secondary tank. I might take the Challenger Mk2, but I doubt 3 MBTs is needed. I dont have the Vickers Mk7 or TTD unlocked. I would take the Stormer HVM If I had it researched yet, though it is totally broken and most just run the 8.3 ZA-35 for SPAA. We have no IFVs or Light tanks at that Bracket at all…
So that is at best 3 MBTs, but likely only 2 and 1x SPAA. Nothing else is available. After that Id run Jaguar Gr1A for CAS jet and Lynx for Heli-CAS. That is my line up for 10.3
Its worth remembering, some nations have been abdandoned and neglected by gaijin and we dont have 100000 options to pick between. We have a handful of choices and that is it and we are heavily dependent on CAS to flush out our line up
Your British 10.3 lineup is a pretty bad example of lineups that have no other choices.
If you look at both 10.0 and 10.3 vehicles, you have five available options in the normal TT with one more premium and squadron vehicle, so in total that number goes up to seven, which is more than plenty.
I run the Challenger Mk.3, Vickers Mk.7, TTD, Rooikat MTTD. the ZA-35 SPAA and Challenger Mk.2 as my main lineup for 10.3 UK. The chally 2 isn’t ever really used and is just there if I get lucky with the SPAA (if it’s my last possible spawn).
I can recommend the Vickers Mk.7 - it’s a speedy little b’tard and has slightly better hull armor due to it being based off a Leopard 2 hull. Don’t even bother with the Stormer, that thing is broken beyond belief.
I didn’t ODL very often in the past but I’ve been doing it a lot while trying to grind the Sep V2. I don’t feel bad about it though. If there is any hope of winning I’ll respawn but in truth most US matches at top tier are lost before the match even starts. I’ve never seen a nation in such a pathetic state as US top tier currently. Between the lackluster state of the Abrams and the horde of premiums it’s really really bad.
Your example is just about being unhappy with the game. It is what it all boils down to.
For me my personal mood can have a huge bearing and that is whether I am in a mood to tolerate WT’s faults or not.
I’m good enough as a player to know when the situation is unplayable but in reality, I have stuck around for games where I got no kills but was enjoying myself regardless.
CAS can ruin a game and when it’s a CAS fest and I have a low BR British tank there is no interaction possible. I have no roof mounted MG and I can’t face other tanks due to CAS so I might as well leave the game when it gets that silly. Not even negative anymore or angry just disappointed and off to the next game I go or even turn WT off.
This is a problem for WT. Gaijin must have a CEO or whatever and their job is to make sure players are playing the game and hopefully spending. I think with the new narrow maps and poor replication of the world’s best tank people are leaving in droves. Those newbies buying premiums are getting slaughtered, how much fun are they having? How long will they stick around?
This! My expectation is that most of them aren’t going to stick around. For the immediate financial gratification of selling top tier premiums Gaijin is creating a long term problem. Many of those players may have ended up spending more money in the long run if they had played the game from the beginning like it should be played. Instead Gaijin happily took their $70 and threw them in the deep end where they have no idea what to do.
