Where do we draw the line here as to who ruins what for whom?
There are players who manage to throw themselves at the opponent three times in four minutes without achieving anything meaningful. Others, on the other hand, manage to survive for 10 minutes without losing a tank and compensate for the above. Still others manage to hide in the last corner for 15 minutes and achieve nothing. I’m also not a big fan of ODL if the reasons are the maps or uptiers. But that’s just something I don’t like.
Some people have a very good sense of when a battle is really over and it actually makes sense to hope for a better battle. In the beginning I usually “used up” 3-4 tanks, but now I average 1-2 tanks/planes per battle. It’s all a question of perspective.
See, and that is why we want you penalized. So get over it.
If you are holding a position and the team is succeeding theres nothing wrong with that. If you are pinned down from multiple tanks and cant move, theres nothing wrong with that, its people like “ULQ_LOVER” who purposely take one tank line up, hold W down, get whacked without doing anything then dip and leave, jumping into another match doing the same thing over and over again.
Just make it so that if you didn’t contribute to the match, you get nothing. No SL, no XP. It’s absurdly easy to get 600 battle activity point, and would be a good cut off point. It would weed out the bots and the people who are incompetent, and in a game which is entirely dependent on teamwork, you can’t afford incompetent teammates.
Air RB is already only one death and doesn’t count.
I don’t get penalized.
That’s a terrible idea. That will make the game 100X worse than it already is.
Help the bad players, not penalize them. And no, it is not easy to get 600 points, especially if you have a bad match. The rewards for a poor match are low enough that they don’t really mean anything.
“Here you had a poor match, here’s absolutely nothing at all because you are so bad at the game” Do you not see anything wrong with this?
Not yet. And you should be.
Its not about being bad. Its about spawning with one tank lineup and bailing. Then pretending that its not a team game and riding off the wins of people who actually put effort into the match. More like if you leave early you dont get rewards period.
Should be because I play like I like?
You are not playing lmao.
Oh yes, I’m imagining playing and this games and stats I have are imaginary.
It’s actually not, and you’d know it if you bothered to look at how Score is calculated.
Point capture is ~300 points.
Dying is ~50 points.
Killing an enemy is ~180 points.
If the ONLY thing you did in a match was cap the first point, kill an enemy, and die three times, you’d make the cutoff. This is basic performance, and frankly, if people can’t perform at that level, they shouldn’t be playing this sort of game.
Seeing as I’ve researched what I want and have in the tens of millions of SL, your terms are acceptable. :D
This is not basic performance, its basic luck.
What if you don’t have fast enough vehicle to get to cap first?
What if you get Conquest map or even better Battle map?
What if you die while capping by lucky arty strike?
There is no teamwork in this game. Your " team " is a potential gaggle of morons with the collective IQ of a room temperature tomato.
You and every other intellectually braindead jackoff who thinks penalizing ODL will solve anything are objectively and subjectively so off the mark you’ve completely missed the landing point by a continent.
Your braindead ideas will drive the playerbase to completely jumping ship and finding other games to play, causing Gaijin to lose out on money and general funding, resulting in the game closing down faster.
I feel you are not being honest there 😆
I have more choice words I could use but Gaijin wouldn’t like it so I have to be… Eloquent.
You failed to mention any downsides in your reply. If the average player is has the IQ of a tomato, why would I care about them leaving this game?
If these people cannot make basic gameplay decisions, I highly doubt they have the financial ability to keep this company financially afloat.
They can always play PvE if they are so interested in a mindless gameplay experience.
Teamwork? In this game? Bwahahah. Hahah. Heeeh. Hah. You’re funny.
On average, a third of your team will be made up of people who show up in a match, hit W, fire a few shots, die because of shit positioning, and will leave battle. Another third of your team is made up of the bad-to-average player who are probably trying their best but just don’t get it done. The remainder is average-to-omgwtfpwn level of skill - people who know their vehicle, know the map, and know how to combine this to their advantage.
But nowhere in this list does teamwork come into play. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times teamwork occurred in top tier. What looks like teamwork sometimes usually isn’t; it’s often just someone being a greedy kill goblin taking advantage of that enemy focusing you - teamwork isn’t their motivation, getting the kill is.
So that argument doesn’t really hold up very well. Will it weed out the bots? Perhaps. Will it turn away those who are still learning? Of course it will. So new players will bail on the game because the grind will be unbearable, and without new players, this game won’t survive.
Yeah that’s a fallacy right there; see, older coots than me play this game, and while their reflexes may not be up to your standards, their financial ability probably overshadows yours by a wide margin.
Gatekeeping isn’t the answer.
