Off-topic/General chat for Britain

Yeah I was just kinda saying it might be a little more unique compared to C+P with new name

I mean only the 80s is C&P, so 80s F/A-18A is what it’s a C&P of. However, Canada has done plenty of domestic upgrade programs since then.

Besides Australia can provide Super Hoernts well, and Canada can only do legacy. So I’d rather it be Canada for the legacy Hornets than we get Australian Super Hornets.

(Besides CF-188 sounds better than (roundel)F/A-18A)

Lol yeah

Overall I think the CF-18 is the most likely, if any are added that is. But you can never rule it out.

RAAF Hornet

(Pre-HUG F/A-18A equivalent)

Hornet Upgrade Program (HUG)

HUG P1: ASRAAM
HUG P.2: APG-65 → APG-73, JHMCS, Link 16, ALR-67, LITENING.

CF-188

(Pre-IMP F/A-18A equivalent)

Incremental Modernization Project Phase (IMP)

IMP I: APG-65 → APG-73, AIM-120, APX-111 IFF, AYK-14 mission computer, AYQ-9 stores management system, MIL-STD-1760 interface, GPS/INS.
Other: New IR sensor, glass cockpit, NVD’s.
IMP II: Link 16, JHMCS, upgraded EW suite, ACM Instrumentation System, Integrated EW Support Station.

Hornet Extension Project (HEP)

HEP I: AIM-120D, ADS-B, Honeywell GPS/INS, Sniper upgrades.
HEP II: AIM-9X blk II, APG-79 AESA radar.

To make it clear as well for everyone else the Aussie P.2 and Canadian IMP II are both F/A-18A+ Equivalents. NOT the C. C had better engines. Furthermore I will refer to the HEP II as the A++ model.

APFSDS round being produced. Not british, but it’s interesting anyway. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Usefull info:

  1. If you capture a point you will get 200 sp.

  2. Full-uptier heli with hellfires = 549sp, Full-uptier tank = 100sp

3) Fox super fast even on top tier

starting 450sp - 100sp (fox) + 200sp (point) = 550 > 549 (12.7 = 100% uptier for helicopters) = guaranteed helicopter in the first 1.5 minutes on most maps.

HAWK T.1A kinda lines up with it on discord?

😁

That would cause a shitstorm, exactly the type of decision making we’ve seen before…

What aircraft do you guys think will be after the Gripen in the tech tree?

Typhoon. Other ZA, British and Indian aircraft fit in the other lines more. Whereas Gripen and Typhoon are directly related in purpose, playstyle and conception.

Best guess

Line-1 (Multirole): Typhoon FGR4 (could also have the DA2/F2)
Line-2 (interceptor/fighters): Typhoon DA2 or F2
Line-3 (Naval): F-35
Line-4 (CAS): Jaguar Gr3A or Harrier Gr9A or Hawk 200
Line-5 (Bomber/Strikers): Tornado Gr4

Someone with more tank knowledge than me, or access to the British archives, needs to let me know if this is the mysterious 75mm HV or just an early 77mm. Never seen a 77mm without the muzzle brake.

This is the illusive triple Crusader gun mount. With 2-Pdr, 3-Inch Howitzer, and Besa MG. Would be an amazing low tier BP vehicle for the goofiness alone.

This appears to be some sort of Humber Armoured Car with a 20mm. Possibly a Hispano with a barrel shroud/jacket. As it is neither a traditional 15mm Besa or 37mm.

Don’t mind me, I’m just dropping this here in case I ever need to refer back to it. Takes forever to write up. Also bear-in-mind many of these aren’t official designations, just ways to mark the differences. This is pretty much every Churchill still not in-game.

Tech-tree:

  • A20: Technically not a Churchill, but essentially a prototype Churchill, has a Matilda II turret with 2-Pdr gun.
  • Churchill III (L/43): This is actually what the model is in-game, but it’s got the stats of a Churchill III (L/50). Difference is having the weaker 6-Pdr Mk III, so could go at a lower tier.
  • Churchill III (L/50) Late: Has the 6-Pdr Mk V, can fire APCR and APDS ammo. Has turret and hull applique armour.
  • Churchill III*: Has a QF 75mm and the same applique armour as mentioned above.
  • Churchill IV (75): Really depends if Gaijin continue the whole “British never used M61 APHE” nonsense. If they do, this could go one BR below the NA75.
  • Churchill V: Has a 95mm Tank Howitzer.
  • Churchill V Late: As above, except with the applique armour (none on the turret though).
  • Churchill VIII: Basically a Mk VII except with the 95mm Tank Howitzer.
  • Churchill VII AVRE: With the 165mm Demolition Gun.

Premium/Gift/Reward/BP:

  • Churchill IR: Reworked Churchill I to later standard (roughly mid-production Mk III). Has the iconic track guards and the same hull side engine louvers as mid-production Mk III’s. Personally I’d buy it for the track guards alone, looks awesome.
  • Churchill II Oke: This is pretty much the only way we can get a Mk II in-game, otherwise it’s literally just a worse Mk I. Has an Oke flame thrower, no silly trailers to worry about either.
  • Ardeer Aggie: Prototype with a massive mortar.
  • Churchill III AVRE: Near identical to the Mk IV AVRE in-game, except with turret applique.
  • Churchill IV (L/43): Near identical to Mk III (L/43), except with cast turret.
  • Churchill IV (L/50): Near identical to Mk III (L/50), except with cast turret.
  • Churchill IV (75): This is a unique version of the tech-tree one above. Has a field modification with additional armour in front of the mantlet.
  • Churchill IV (L/50) Late: Near identical to Mk III Late (L/50), except with cast turret and no turret applique.
  • Churchill IV (75) Late: Near identical to the IV (75) except with hull applique.
  • Churchill VI: Near identical to the Churchill IV (75).
  • Churchill VI Late: Near identical to the Churchill IV Late (75).
  • Churchill VI Late (Irish): As above, except it has a Rolls Royce Merlin engine.
  • Churchill VII Wire Mesh: Literally a Churchill VII with a wire mesh screen around it. Can’t remember if they were trying to make it anti-grenade or anti-HEAT. Could be called Churchill VII “Gnat” as that was the name on the tank.

Not Suitable:

  • Churchill I CS: Field conversion. Has both a hull and turret 3-Inch Howitzer, no HEAT for this weapon exists.
  • Churchill IR CS: Field conversion, again, has both hull and turret 3-Inch Howitzer. Has the reworked Mk I upgrades, and has a Panzer III/IV cupola.
  • Churchill I CS Reversed: Has hull 2-Pdr and turret 3-Inch Howitzer, again no HEAT for this exists so it’s just a worse Mk I.
  • Churchill II: Serves no purpose compared to the Mk I in-game.
  • Churchill IIR: As above, except for a Mk II being reworked.
  • Churchill III Early: The earliest Churchill III’s had hull’s nearly identical to the Mk II.
  • Churchill IIIR: Reworked to mid-production standards.
  • Churchilll IX/X/XI: A hull was prototyped, but they were never fully developed.
