And France.
France too, honestly. And also China i think.
gajin can add new trees in the stil of blue water and coastel fleet as example. As a very hard example, i do not say this should happen, they could add a polish tree to germany and give it a whole new page, just like with naval you could do combined line ups, this has the benefit of the polish tree getting the support of a fully developed german tree, we wouldnt get any problems trough the lack of light tanks or spaas, which is the biggest problem at top tier for japan , israel currently the lack of support vehicles.
And with the new heli research mechanic in the same way we could choose where the research points should go towards, the research of poland or the german tree
Honestly that kind of stile would be the best way moving forward in my opinion, but everyone has a different view
Copy pasted my idea for going forward i typed this to many times now
france only has the rafael, it has no extensive air development with multiple planes does it?, i didnt count the eurofighter either or the grippen
and i mentioned that few posts down as well xD u forgot britain
Sub trees as of right now are ground focused and France has 5 ground lines.
Oh it was different one you where quoting oops.
Since US got the F-111, i wish for the Mirage IV, here at right, next to a Mirage III
Without talking about previous era (cold war) jet that we still miss some variants (later Mirage IIIs or F1s), we still could have a Mirage 2000-5F MkII, and Mirage 2000-9.
We also have more advanced variants of the 2000-D.
We could also have Mirage 4000 (afaik in perhaps 2 configuration, so 2 planes perhaps, the first with up to 10x magics 2 and limited to 4 530F, the later with MICAs).
And coming to the Rafale, it’s not “one plane”. It is 3 big family/variants each one with it’s upgrades:
Rafale C, one seat, the “basic” one that should come on the line following the Mirage 2000-5F.
Rafale B, dual seat and more equiped for electronic warfare, following the Mirage 2000D line.
and Rafale M, one seat navy, on a “naval” line that i would like to be made.
All could come in 3 lines and in multiple upgrades with the time, standard F1, F2, F3, F3-R…
Starting with basic early Rafales with PESA radar and ending with latest gen with AESA, IRIS-T, Meteor etc…
Trust me, we don’t lack choice for top tier that are completly capable and meta, and this work modern air, ground, sea, sub, whatever. Funny how you say Germany capable (how are these Russian planes?) and don’t think France can totally stand it’s place.
And if you REALLY want “originality” (or stupid copy past like for every other nation), you can add Belgium F-16s, Swiss F-18s, and Algerian Mig-29. Absolutly not saying we need that, France can totally be independant and meta in modern time.
All three Rafale airframes share the same EW suit, the Rafale B is not dedicated for that.
F.1 standard has only been used on Rafale M serially, the Rafale C with F.1 was a testbed.
France doesn’t use IRIS-T on Rafale (if at all), but MICA - F.4.2 will add MICA NG IR/EM.
I said IRIS-T, but I was talking about the sensor suite whose name I forgot (but close to IRIS-T i think)…
Anyway this don’t change the fact that we have multiples choices that can totally follow the meta.
they still all are basicaly the same , compared to f14,f16, f/a 18 ,f22 /f35, russia has mig 29, su 27, etc etc that all are quite a bit different
And ? I personnally don’t care. It’s still multiple choices that could totally make France following the meta in the times.
You meant IRST then, but thats also used on all standards except LF.1(and early F.3, due lack of financing).
The F.4.1 received an new IRST, but also new electronics for it.
variants of 1 aircraft doesnt make them a mayor air developer that is the point
Depend your point of view.
If you develop one type of plane, that is modern and capable, and you sell them more and more to diverse nation, how can’t you a major air developer ?
So in what you say Germany is a major also in that case ? What did they do alone ?
in that case eurofighter counts as well, but we were talking about diversity here, it is about adding different aircraft and not just 1 constant upgrade
germany is no mayor air developer in my opinion , only US, RU and China that have multiple advanced aircraft developments at the same time and not 1 aircraft just modified
Go tell to Dassault or France globally that they only developped one plane x)
either way it is a fact france doesnt compare to the development of US, RU and to a lesser degree China
In the number of planes, nope.
But still can do alone capable planes for today’s views.
And don’t get me started on the only nuclear CV outside the USA, the nuclear subs, missiles etc…
we are talking about air development here where france doesnt compare, modifiying 1 plane is easier and cheaper compared to multiple at once
Simply don’t need multiple planes when you make one omni-role planes that totally fullfill all the needs of the country, from air security, to ground attack, to nuclear strike.
