they still all are basicaly the same , compared to f14,f16, f/a 18 ,f22 /f35, russia has mig 29, su 27, etc etc that all are quite a bit different
And ? I personnally don’t care. It’s still multiple choices that could totally make France following the meta in the times.
You meant IRST then, but thats also used on all standards except LF.1(and early F.3, due lack of financing).
The F.4.1 received an new IRST, but also new electronics for it.
variants of 1 aircraft doesnt make them a mayor air developer that is the point
Depend your point of view.
If you develop one type of plane, that is modern and capable, and you sell them more and more to diverse nation, how can’t you a major air developer ?
So in what you say Germany is a major also in that case ? What did they do alone ?
in that case eurofighter counts as well, but we were talking about diversity here, it is about adding different aircraft and not just 1 constant upgrade
germany is no mayor air developer in my opinion , only US, RU and China that have multiple advanced aircraft developments at the same time and not 1 aircraft just modified
Go tell to Dassault or France globally that they only developped one plane x)
either way it is a fact france doesnt compare to the development of US, RU and to a lesser degree China
In the number of planes, nope.
But still can do alone capable planes for today’s views.
And don’t get me started on the only nuclear CV outside the USA, the nuclear subs, missiles etc…
we are talking about air development here where france doesnt compare, modifiying 1 plane is easier and cheaper compared to multiple at once
Simply don’t need multiple planes when you make one omni-role planes that totally fullfill all the needs of the country, from air security, to ground attack, to nuclear strike.
man french people realy are bad sometimes geez, nobody will name france as a mayor air developer or look for planes in that tree, well thats that from me
Modern jets are extremely expensive to develop. That’s why there’s so many joint projects.
Russia can no longer have meaningful development since it doesn’t have the scale of the USSR and are running with the licenses they inherited. The U.S and China are the only other stand outs for being able to develop multiple aircraft on their own.
France being able to develop aircraft at all on our own is a major achievement. Where most other European countries are just buying domestic licenses for the F-35. The Eurofighter meanwhile looks to be aging out because of limitations of the original operational range.
yes, but for the coming war thudner time RU specialy is only going to get their real juicy stuff now as well
i wont deny that either, but that doesnt put them on the same scale as RU/US/China
thats not realy the case, they are still getting further developed /upgraded, like currently they are getting a way better new radar system
You can’t upgrade an aircraft outside it’s structual limits. If the airframe doesn’t have the ability to carry more fuel or bigger armament (in terms of size or weigt) there is no possibility to upgrade it without redesigning the aircraft from ground up. A radar system only gets you so far
i just showed that it is not necesarily aging out, of course there it is FACS system that will replace it at one point, but it will replace rafaeles as well
It might. Currently the Rafale is still experiencing upgrade all around including the FCS. It’s not really the point of aging out but more of a shorter upgrade period until replacement is needed
yes and the same is happening for the eurofighter
Again it’s more about which one falls out of upgradability first. Rafale so far is still looking well while Eurofighter starts to drop off
i dont understand your point their, that still doesnt make france on par with US, russia or china
